“It rolls over and damages anything in its path, then breaks open and out pops a Barbarian! How did he get inside?!”

The Barbarian Barrel card is unlocked from the Barbarian Bowl（Arena 3）. It is an area damage spell with a moderate area of effect and damage. When cast, the Barbarian Barrel rolls across the Arena, damaging ground troops and buildings in its path. After rolling for 5 tiles, it will break open and release a Barbarian. A Barbarian Barrel card costs 2 Elixir to deploy.

Strategy[]

The Barbarian Barrel can be used in a similar manner to The Log, but it will not reach the Princess Tower before releasing its Barbarian. However, the Barbarian can follow up and attack anything still alive. If the Barbarian Barrel is placed right at the bridge and ignored by the opponent, it will deal more tower damage than a Lightning for just one-third of its price.
The Barbarian Barrel can counter lone support troops such as Wizard, Witch, and Executioner with the help of a Princess Tower.Even without a Princess Tower, if the troop is distracted, the Barbarian can take it out on its own. The Barbarian Barrel also has enough range so that the Barbarian can spawn across the river, giving it more utility for defending against ranged troops.
Against the Witch, the Barbarian Barrel should be placed as soon as the Witch's Skeletons spawn so they do not protect the Witch. The Barrel should also be placed so the Barbarian spawns beside the Witch so the Barbarian can attack her faster.
The Barbarian can be used as a tank for a small push, as it can spawn closer to the tower without taking damage while in the Barrel.
The Barbarian Barrel can function as a cheap tank for a Graveyard. The Graveyard spell should be played first, and then the Barbarian should be placed at the bridge immediately afterwards. The Barbarian will spawn as soon as the Graveyard's Skeletons start spawning, both tanking for them and also threatening to deal chip damage to the Princess Tower.
The Barbarian Barrel is a decent counter to a Graveyard push itself. The defender should wait for some Skeletons to build up, then deploy the barrel. After it finishes rolling, the Barbarian will help take out and tank some of the Skeletons. Players should keep in mind that despite appearances, the Barbarian Barrel's radius is thinner than The Log, so some Skeletons may seem like they are in range of the barrel when they are not.
The Barbarian Barrel cannot take out equal level Princesses, Dart Goblins, or Rascal Girls with just the barrel's damage, meaning an extra swing from the Barbarian is needed. However, a Barbarian Barrel one level higher than these units will be able to take them out without the Barbarian's help.
The Barbarian can help counter air troops placed close to the center of the arena, such as a Baby Dragon or Minions. The defender should place the Barbarian Barrel so that once the enemy troop is in range of the Princess towers, the Barbarian will spawn slightly in the lane opposite of the air troop. This will kite the air troop into the opposite lane, giving the defender's towers ample time to chip it down.
When using a Goblin Barrel against a Barbarian Barrel, staggering the Goblin Barrel 1 tile to either side of the Princess Tower will cause the Barbarian Barrel to miss one of the Goblins if it is placed directly on the center, allowing the Goblin to stab the tower twice for chip damage.

History[]

The Barbarian Barrel card was added to the game on 6/4/18.
On 25/4/18, the April 2018 Update increased the Barbarian Barrel’s range to 7（from 6.5）. It also allowed the Barbarian Barrel to be placed on the river if a Crown Tower has been already destroyed.
On 4/6/18, a Balance Update increased the Barbarians‘ hit speed to 1.4秒（from 1.5秒）.
On 20/6/18, the Summer Update increased the Barbarian Barrel's damage by 17%, and allow the user to see where the spawned Barbarian will be after it is used. It also moved the Arena to unlock this card from Hog Mountain（Arena 10） to Barbarian Bowl（Arena 3）.
On 3/9/18, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian Barrel's Elixir cost to 2（from 3）, decreased its range to 5（from 7）, decreased its damage by 9%, and removed its ability to knock back troops.
On 1/10/18, a Balance Update made the Barbarian Barrel roll faster and deploy the Barbarian quicker.
On 3/12/18, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian Barrel’s damage by 5%.
On 7/1/19, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian Barrel’s deploy time（the Barbarian will not attack for 0.15秒 after jumping out of the barrel, allowing other units to be placed close to it so that it retargets onto those）.
On 4/3/19, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian's hitpoints by 13%.
On 3/6/19, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian Barrel's damage by 10%.
On 1/7/19, a Balance Update fixed a bug where the Barbarian Barrel's width was actually 3.9 tiles（decrease of 1.3 tiles to correctly match vision of Barbarian Barrel's width: 2.6 tiles）.
On 5/8/19, a Balance Update decreased the Barbarian Barrel's damage by 15%.
On 4/11/19, a Balance Update increased the Barbarian's Barrel's damage by 8%.
On 27/10/21, the 2021 Quarter 3 Update added the level 14 Barbarian Barrel.

Trivia[]

The word "Barbarian" comes from "barbaros", which is the Greek word for uncivilized. Dating back to the ancient Greek times, the Greeks referred to non-Greek people as barbarians because the language they spoke sounded to Greeks like gibberish represented by the sounds "bar..bar..;".
It is one of the 5 cards associated with Barbarians, including the Barbarians, Battle Ram, Elite Barbarians, and Barbarian Hut.
- It is the only Barbarian-related card to be Epic.
- It is the only Barbarian-related card to be a 法术.
- It is the cheapest Barbarian-related card, costing only 2 Elixir.
- It is the only Barbarian-related card to spawn only 1 Barbarian instead of more than 1.
It is 1 of 3 spells which can only be placed in the player's own territory, the others being the Royal Delivery and The Log.
