“No need to sign for this package! Dropped from the sky, it deals Area Damage to enemy Troops before delivering a Royal Recruit. The empty box is also handy for espionage.”
The Royal Delivery card is unlocked from the Legendary Arena(Arena 15). It is a defensive Spell which can only be deployed on the player's own side. The Delivery drops from the sky, damaging air units and ground units. Once the spell has hit the ground, it spawns a single Royal Recruit. A Royal Delivery card costs 3 Elixir to deploy.
Strategy[]
- The spell has a 3秒 delay after being deployed. Keep this in mind when defending, and time your drop accordingly. This is especially important against the Goblin Barrel. As soon as you see the Barrel coming, place the Delivery right on top of your tower to prevent all damage.
- The Royal Delivery is comparable to Arrows, being worse offensively and generally stronger defensively, as it deals more damage and spawns a Royal Recruit to distract any remaining units. However, since its damage is dealt in one hit, shielded units like Guards will only have their shields knocked off by the Royal Delivery, but Arrows will completely counter them, knocking their shield off in two volleys and one-shotting them with the last vollet.
- While the spell itself cannot be played past the bridge, its radius is large enough to hit a Princess that is standing at the bridge.
- A fully healthy Royal Recruit will attack a Princess Tower once after crossing the bridge, dealing decent chip damage. The Royal Recruit can be also used as a tank for a small push after it defends, which can be especially useful as its shield may force the opponent to delay their use of a spell on defense.
- The spell is effective at dealing with a Miner + swarm combo. Wait for the swarm to get closer to the tower, then drop the Royal Delivery on it. The spawned Recruit will then help deal with the Miner.
- Placing it directly on ranged glass cannons such as Musketeers and Wizards right after they cross the bridge will allow the Delivery to counter these troops for a positive Elixir trade. The player should make sure that the enemy troop is in range of your Princess Tower when the Delivery drop, and they should avoid letting the enemy troop lock onto the tower for unnecessary damage. A workaround to this is placing the Delivery right in front of the troop. This will push the enemy troop back slightly and force them to retarget onto the Recruit if the spell deployment was too late.
- The spell pairs extremely well with Bomb Tower or Goblin Cage on defense. The building will buy time for the Royal Delivery to drop as well as clumping up all the enemy troops, and the spawned Royal Recruit will distract the remaining enemy units long enough for the bomb to blow up or the Goblin Brawler to finish them off.
- Since it does spawn a troop, the spell can be used to seperate a building-targeting troop from a regular troop. For example, against a Giant Skeleton Balloon push, the Royal Delivery can be used similarly to any ranged unit to lure the Giant Skeleton away from the Balloon, allowing your air defenders to defeat the Balloon much easier. However, this is a tactic that should be used very rarely, because using the Royal Delivery to lure troops in this way would result in its deploy damage being wasted.
- The Royal Delivery can negate most damage from the Goblin Drill. The Delivery should be deployed when the Drill is near the Princess Tower, so that it immediately destroys the first Goblin that spawns from the Drill. The area damage will also damage the Drill itself and the Recruit has enough health and damage to finish the remaining Goblins with the help of the Princess Tower.
History[]
- The Royal Delivery card was added into the game in a Classic Royale Challenge on 2/3/2020.
- The card was fully released on 6/4/2020.
- On 5/5/20, a Balance Update increased the Delivery's damage by 27%.
- On 2/6/20, a Balance Update decreased the Delivery's damage by 10%.
- On 3/8/20, a Balance Update increased the damage of Royal Recruits by 8%, and also removed the Delivery's knockback. Its description was also updated to reflect this, previously saying "No need to sign for this package! Dropped from the sky, it damages and knocks back enemy Troops before delivering a Royal Recruit. The empty box is also handy for espionage."
- The 2021 Quarter 2 Update moved the Arena to unlock the Royal Delivery from Spooky Town(Arena 12) to Legendary Arena(Arena 15).
- On 27/10/21, the 2021 Quarter 3 Update added the level 14 Royal Delivery.
Trivia[]
- In the card's description, "the empty box is also handy for espionage" is likely a reference to Metal Gear Solid.
- It is 1 of 3 spells which can only be placed in the player's own territory, the others being The Log and the Barbarian Barrel.
- The Royal Delivery is the only spell that has been featured in the Troop Rush game mode.
- This is the one of the two non legendary cards that drops from the sky the other one being Zappies.
- The deploy sound of the Royal Recruit spawned from the Royal Delivery is different to the one of the Royal Recruits spawned from the Royal Recruits card.
