Throughout the course of time, Supercell has introduced updates to Clash Royale that fix bugs, balance battles, introduce new Cards and create new game mechanics.

Balance Changes (2/7/2024)

  • Goblin Curse: Radius decreased to 3 tiles (from 4tiles), Damage Amplification decreased to 20% (from 35%).
  • Goblin Demolisher: Death Damage -13%, Death Damage radius decreased to 2.5 tiles (from 3 tiles), Hit Speed increased to 1.2 sec (from 1.1 sec).
  • Goblin Machine: Hitpoints -15%, First Hit Time increased to 0.5 sec (from 0.2 sec).
  • Prince: Charge Distance increased to 2 tiles (from 1.5 tiles).
  • Ram Rider: Charge Distance increased to 2 tiles (from 1.5 tiles).

Goblin World Update (17/6/2024)

Goblin Queen's Journey

  • The Goblin Queen's Journey is a new temepary game mode that is added alongside the Trophy Road and the Path of Legends. The highest bonus reward is at 3,400 Goblin Trophies, but there is no cap on Goblin Trophies.
  • Your Goblin Trophies and Arena will be shown on your profile.
  • There will be 4 arenas that will unlock different cards and have a cap on the maximum level and evo slots. Every time you get to a new arena, you will get a Chest Speed Up Boost
    • For Gold mines (Goblin 1, from 0-999 trophies) the cap is level 9 and no evo slots are available. Unlocks the Baby Goblins & Goblin Demolisher.
    • For Mudpit (Goblin 2, from 1000-1999 trophies) the cap is level 11 and 1 evo slot is available. Unlocks the Goblin Curse.
    • For Scrapyard (Goblin 3, from 2000-2999 trophies) the cap is level 13 and 1 evo slot is available. Unlocks the Goblin Machine.
    • For Ancestral Palace (Goblin 4, from 3000+ trophies) the cap is level 15 and 2 evo slots are available.
  • The only tower troop available inside the Goblin Queen’s Journey is the Baby Goblins (same stats as Tower Princess). This mode will also changes the King Tower to the Goblin Queen Tower (same stats as the King Tower, but has a special ability (when combined with the Baby Goblins) after spending 20 Elixir on Goblin cards).
  • New temporary chests were added to the game, giving mostly goblin cards. However, they are only available inside the Goblin Queen’s Journey.

Other Changes & Bug Fixes

  • You can now get full Evolutions from the Legendary Mystery Box (11% chance)
  • You can now filter the card collection by: Evolution, Upgrades, Troops, Spells and Buildings, or any combination of them.
  • Player username reporting was made easier via a button on their profile.
  • Winning Clan War battles now gives Chests.
  • Press the shop tab button while browsing the shop to navigate through categories
  • You now have 10 deck slots for Path of Legends, 10 for Trophy Road, 10 for Goblin Queen's Journey, and 1 set with 4 decks for Duel Battles.
  • Evolved Tesla’s Death Pulse will now always trigger regardless of what destroyed the Tesla.
  • Fixed damage multipliers and reductions stacking with the Monk and Evolved Knight.
  • Fixed Tesla's behavior when it is frozen during deployment.
  • Fixed the issue where the "Ready to claim" icon was not shown when a reward was claimable in the Community Events.
  • Winning battles inside a Duel now count each of the battles separately, instead of considering the full Duel a single battle.
  • The magic item button is no longer removed from the stats screen when a card is at level 15.
  • Evolution Shard progress is now located and seen in the card collection.
  • New Tower Skin: Goblin Mine
  • 14 Banner items were made available.
  • Emotes: Goblin Queen Angry, Goblin Queen Cry, Goblin Queen Laugh & Goblin Queen Thumbs Down.

Balance Changes

  • Giant: Range Decreased to 1.2 tiles (from 1.6 tiles)
  • Little Prince: Charge Damage -48%. Guardian First Hit increased to 0.5 sec (from 0.2 sec). Charge Knockback decreased to 2 tiles (from 2.5 tiles)
  • Knight Evolution: HP -9% (bonus hp removed)
  • Tesla Evolution: Pulse Damage -23%. Pulse Stun decreased to 0.5 sec (from 1 sec).
  • Ram Rider: Charge Distance decreased to 1.5 tiles (from 3 tiles)
  • Prince: Charge Distance decreased to 1.5 tiles (from 3 tiles)
  • Spear Goblins (affects Goblin Hut, Goblin Gang & Goblin Giant): First hit time decreased to 0.3 sec (from 0.5 sec).
  • Dart Goblin: Damage +8%.
  • Goblin Cage: Cage HP +5%.
  • Void: First Hit Time increased to 1 sec (from 0.4 sec). Hit speed increased to 0.769 sec (from 0.667 sec).
  • Dagger Duchess: Damage -27%. Dagger relode time decreased to 0.8 sec (from 1.2 sec).

Lucky Drops Update (18/3/2024)

Daily Task and Mystery Box

  • The 3 daily tasks will be changed, and will be the same every day. The tasks are:
    • Play 1 battle
    • Earn 10 Crowns From Battles
    • Win 3 Battles
  • The rewards will be changed to 3 crowns, 3 crowns and a Mystery Box (removing banner tokens. XP, and the silver/gold chests)
  • Each mystery box starts at common, and has 3 attempts to upgrade to the higher rarity (20% for common, 25% for rare, 30% for epic)
  • Some of the rewards in the mystery box will scale in arenas (Max at Arena 15/5000 trophies)
  • The mystery box will give many different rewards depending on the rarity (numbers for arena 15)
    • (36.7%) Common will give: 1.500 Gold (30%), 20 Common wild cards (30%), 10 Rare wild cards (30%) and 5 Epic wild cards (10%)
    • (49%) Rare will give: 7.500 Gold (25%), 200 Common wild cards (25%), 50 Rare wild cards (25%), 20 Epic wild cards (10%), 1 Legendary wild card (10%) and 1 Champion wild card (5%)
    • (12.7%) Epic will give: 1 Common book (12%), 1 Rare book (11%), 1 Epic book (7%), 5 Legendary wild cards (20%), 3 Champion wild cards (20%), 1 Evolution wild shard (10%) and 7.500 Elite wild cards (20%)
    • (1.5%) Legendary will give: 1 Legendary book (33,33%), 1 Book of books (33,33%) and 50.000 Elite wild cards (33,33%)
  • Magic items from the mystery box will go over the inventory limits.

Deck UI

  • Copying and pasting decks now includes the Tower Troop
  • Added a new button to switch between ascending and descending order
  • Editing the deck can be done by just tapping on 1 of the 8 cards (compared to pressing "Edit Deck"). To go out, just tap the selected card or switch to a different deck slot

Bug fixes & Other (Quality of Life) Changes

  • When completing the first Classic/Mega Draft/Grand Challenge, you will get a Common/Rare/Epic Book respectfully. These cannot go over the inventory limits
  • Path of Legends matches are now available on TV Royale
  • Wild cards now work on Tower Troops
  • Some chests had there gold changed
  • Improvement in the behavior of the Champion's Ability Button
  • Evolved Skeletons: Spawning Change (New spawns now occur only after the trigger Skeleton’s attack and if it’s still alive)
  • Tesla's Evolution Star Level now displays correctly
  • Fixed crashes when trying to collect Gold related rewards in Path of Legends
  • Fixed Clan Chat crashing and added performance improvements
  • Path of Legends leaderboards no longer glitch when switching between local/global

Tower Troop (Upgrades)

  • Tower Troops are troops which defends the towers to the left and right (the King tower stays as it is).
  • The Tower Princess will become a common Tower Troop, but has the same stats as the old Princess Tower.
  • Tower Troops are upgraded similarly to the rest of the cards (different rarities and upgraded by Cards and Gold (or Elite Wild Cards at level 15)
  • Tower Troop cards can be found in a new chest: "Tower Troop Chest" with no unlock time
  • All Magic Items outside the Magic Coin can't be used to upgrade Tower Troops
  • Tower Troop levels is capped by you King Tower level
  • When you reach the necessary King Level to upgrade your King Tower level, you will get enough cards in the King's Journey chest to upgrade your Tower Princess to the same level as your King Tower

On December 25, you will get a towerskin (Grouchy Goblin for naughty, Freezy the Snowman for nice), while you can buy the other one in the shop.
  • Supercell will keep track of different thing, and once reached, every one will get a reward for free
    • Goal 1 is to Play 2v2. Starts 4 and end 11. Reward is Happy Wrapping (Foreground)
    • Goal 2 it to Earn Crowns. Start 11 and end 18. Reward is Clashmas Wrapping (Background)
    • Goal 3 is to Deploy Units. Start 18 and end 24. Reward is Lightning Chest.

Bot Practice and Training Camp

  • Trainer in the Training Camp are being upgraded.
  • You can now practice against a bot, playing with a previous opponent deck and Levels.
  • You can switch your deck, if you want to.
  • You can not practice against decks with Champion cards.

User interface improvements

  • There are 2 pop ups to explain Evolutions.
  • There is 1 pop up to explain Elite Levels.

  • Removed external storage permissions for Android devices.

  • Fix for Evolved Firecracker, which activated Evolved Barbarians’ Anger with each attack.
  • Fix for Deck Explorer, which sometimes crashed when watching replays.
  • Fixed card information screen for Elite Level cards, which didn’t have a button to use Magic Items, making it harder to use Evolution Shards on them. The button to spend Wild Shards will now be available for Level 15 cards as well.
  • Fixed troops facing the wrong way after being pushed back.
  • Fixed Lightning Chests showing incorrect Elite Wild Card total. This was a visual bug that caused chests with the lightning-choice mechanic to display less EWCs obtained than they were actually giving.
  • Fix for Player Profiles not showing evolved cards properly in the Battle Deck section. Cards that are able to evolve will still be displayed with the evolution frame, and those that are in the evolution slot will also have a glowing highlight.
  • Fixed issue with chests in Shop offers displaying an incorrect Arena.
  • Improvements for foldable devices, allowing the UI to better adapt to different aspect ratios.
  • Fixed the crash that was triggered when buying Elite Wild Cards from the Shop while at the inventory limit. This happened when players had the max amount of 400.000 Elite Wild Cards but tried to buy more from the weekly shop offer.
  • Removed Hoggy Bank gold being increased when players canceled a trade.

Elite Level & King Level

  • Level 15 is coming in the form of Elite Level.
  • You upgrade your cards with Elite Wild Cards. Every card cost 50.000 Elite Wild Cards and no Gold, regardless of rarity.
  • You get Elite Wild Cards when your cards overflow. Each rarity gives different amount of Elite Wild Cards.
  • You can also convert your Magic Items for Elite Wild Cards if all cards of said rarity are at Level 14.
  • You can have up to 400.000 Elite Wild Cards.
  • The King Level can go up to Level 70.
  • The Tower Power gets increased to Level 15 at King Level 54.

Card Evolution

  • Evolutions is a way to upgrade your troops and improve their stats.
  • You need to cycle your troop a few number of times before you get your evolution.
  • To unlock the evolution, you need to get 6 Evolution Shards, either Wild Shards, or Evolution Shards specifically for that troop.
  • You get Evolution shards in: Pass Royale (King Level 7), Season Shop (King Level 8), Special Event Challenges, Shop, Path of Legends and Level up Chest (after King Level 50, every other Level up Chest will have Evolution Shards)
  • You also need to place the card in the evolution slot (unlock at King Level 7).
  • There will be 4 Evolutions at the start (Barbarians, Skeletons, Firecracker and Royal Giant), but more will be added over time.
  • Once the evolution is unlocked, additional shards will be converted to cards (conversion depends on rarity).
  • You cannot use evolutions in: Classic Challenge, Grand Challenge and Mega Draft.

Miscellaneous and improvements

  • 3 new Arenas (Boot Camp, Clash Fest and Pancakes) is added to Trophy Road, raising the Trophy cap to 9,000.
  • The third Card Mastery Level in the second task will be changed to Gold (amount depend on rarity) from 300/450 gems.
  • You can earn Crowns and Chests from the Event tab.
  • The Play Again button is added back to 2v2.
  • Most Chests will get their Gold tripled.
  • 6 cards are getting a third task in the Card Mastery. These are: Royal Giant, Battle Ram, Battle Healer, Electro Wizard, Balloon and Musketeer.
  • The Events tab will be highlighted if there is a new Event Challenge.

Season Tokens and Season Shop

  • Season Token is a new currency which you can use in the Season Shop.
  • You get Season Tokens from events, Pass Royale (including free side) & Shop.
  • The Season Shop resets every season and has a variety of rewards in it (like Emotes, Battle Banners, Gold, Magic Items and so much more).
  • At the end of the season, the Season Tokens will be converted to Gold so use them before time runs out!

Events Tab Revamp

  • In the event tab, you can earn Season Tokens (50 per Tower defended, 100 per Tower destroyed, 1 per Elixir spend & a 1.5 multiplier if you win).
  • There is a cap at 1,000 per day. But you can spend Gems (price increases after each purchase, resets each day) to increase the cap by 1,000 (max 8,000). If you spend Gems to increase the cap once, you will get a x2 multiplier for the day.
  • Party mode is moved here and no longer awards Chests, Crowns and Victory Gold.
  • All matches in the Events use Friendly Rules.
  • Play Events as much as you want.
  • Grand Challenge cost and rewards are halved, and the Mega Draft Challenge is taking its place.

Pass Royale Revamp

  • You can now earn up to 6 crowns (1 per Tower destroyed and 1 per Tower defended).
  • Pass Royale is now longer, having 121 tiers, instead of 35.
  • Bonus Bank has been removed.
  • Pass Royale is divided to 3 tiers: Free Tier, Gold Tier, and Diamond Tier (can upgrade from Gold to Diamond midseason).
    • In the Free Tier, you are getting: Season Tokens, Crown Chests and Gold Crate.

Updated Leaderboards

  • Clan and friend leaderboards are now based on Ranked Rating, Trophies, and League.

  • Top Player leaderboard now displays the Path of Legends leaderboard.
  • We have added a “Clan Legend Score”, which uses Clan members’ ranked Ratings to determine the Clans' rating. There is a toggle for both of these scores.

King Level Rework + Champions Unlock

  • The King Level can go up to Level 50.
  • The Level-up Chests are smaller, but you get more (50 compared to 14).
  • The Tower Level/power will still be capped at Level 14.
  • You now unlock Champion Cards through the Arenas (compared to King Level 14).

Trophy Road

  • In Trophy Road, there is 6 new Arenas (up to Arena 20 at 7,500 trophies). These arenas are: Miner's Mine, Executioner's Kitchen, Royal Crypt, Silent Sanctuary, & Dragon Spa.
  • Besides the Trophy requirement, there is also going to be a King Level requirement.
  • It will not reset, and you can't go higher than 7,500 Trophies.

Path of Legends

  • You can now switch in between Trophy Road & Path of Legends.
  • You unlock this when you reach Arena 15 (5,000 trophies).
  • There are 10 Leagues, each having a Level cap.
  • Every time you win, you go up a step. Every time you lose, you go down a steep.
  • There are golden steps, where you can't drop down (like a checkpoint). The higher the League, the less golden steps.
  • After Ultimate Champion, there are no steps. Instead its player ratings.
  • You will still be reset to Challenger 1. However the higher League you were, the higher the step multiplier.

Daily Tasks

  • Each day, you have 3 task. You get a small reward.
  • Can get a daily bonus, if you complete all 3 task.
  • Doing it 7 days in a row, you will unlock a weekly bonus.

Hoggy Bank

  • Hoggy Bank is a new premium feature that will cost money to unlock. It will appear on the home screen from time to time and will hold either Gems or Gold.
  • After purchasing the Hoggy Bank, the bank will enable you to receive additional Gold or Gems (depending on the type that you have purchased) that will be stored in the Hoggy Bank.
  • Additionally, during the time period that the Hoggy Bank is active, there will be additional milestones that you can complete and then be able to smash the bank to empty the bank and reap the reward!

Battle Banners

  • Banners is something you can design.
  • The banner has 3 elements:
    • Frame (background).
    • Decoration (foreground).
    • Badges (up to 3 can be selected).
  • The banners can appear in your profile & in battle before it starts.
  • You unlock the banner parts in the Banner Box.
  • The Banner Box can be accessed directly from the home screen.
  • The banner box cost 100 Banner Tokens or gems (starts at 50 & goes up by 50. Price resets after every season) & gives 1 Banner element.

Profile Redesign

  • Your Battle Banner is visible and can be tapped to access your Player Profile.
  • Can enter your Battle Log (only on your own profile).
  • Can chose up to 8 badges to show. If you want to see them all, click on "Show Collection".
  • Battle Deck now shows the latest deck, played by the player.
  • The rest (League, Stats and Challenge Stats) are the same as normal.
  • The Pass Royale banner has been moved and resized.

New Badges

  • Win Clan War matches. 8 upgrades (10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500).
  • Donate cards. Progress depend on rarity (Common card=1, Rare=10, Epic=10). 8 upgrades (100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, 25000, 50000, 100000).

  • Win 2v2 battles. 7 upgrades (10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000).

  • Being a Supercell Creator.
  • Watching the credits to the end.

Other changes

  • 10 cards are getting 3 more levels in the card mastery. The rewards are: 100, 125, 150 Banner Tokens.
  • You can play duels outside of Clan Wars. The duel deck slots are accessible via a toggle button at your deck slot panel.
  • There are 2 modes for this:
    • Duel: Best of 3, where you chose a deck before each round. You can not play the same deck 2 times
    • Ban Pick Duel: Best of 1, where you first can see the opponents 4 decks & ban 2 of their decks. Then you have to chose 1 of your remaining 2 decks to play.
  • There is a slider for music and SFX.
  • The Trader has been moved to the Shop. You can also reroll both "Give" and "Get". You can also trade as many times as you want (given you have enough Trade Tokens/rerolls).

  • There’s now a delete deck button in Special Challenges.

King Level 14

  • Cards and Crown Towers can now be upgraded to Level 14.
  • The Experience requirements for certain King Levels have been reduced:
    • The upgrade from King Level 13 to 14 costs the same amount of EXP as the old Level 12 to 13 upgrade.
    • Players could experience an automatic King Level upgrade after the update due to these changes.
    • King Level 13 players gained further EXP based on their card upgrades and donations after reaching Level 13.
  • The Card requirements for certain levels have been reduced.
  • Players who previously upgraded these card rarities at these levels were compensated with the card difference between the old and new values. For example, a Level 12 Common Card before the update received 500 more copies after the update (2000 - 1500).
  • The Gold requirements for certain levels have been reduced.
  • The upgrade from Level 13 to 14 costs the same amount of Cards and Gold as the old Level 12 to 13 upgrade.


Star Points

  • Star Points can now be spent starting from King Level 6.
  • Star Points now accumulate from King Level 1. As a result, Star Points have been separated from EXP, though they are still gained at the same rate in the same manner.
  • Star Levels now unlock based on a card's level:
    • Star Level 1 unlocks for Cards at Level 7
    • Star Level 2 unlocks for Cards at Level 10
    • Star Level 3 unlocks for Cards at Level 13
  • The cost to upgrade a Star Level has been decreased.
  • During a card's preview you may click on the top left to show the card at Star Level 1/2/3.

King's Journey

  • King's Journey is a progression road based on Experience (like Trophy Road), but for your King Level.
  • Each time you unlock a new King Level, you will get a Level-Up Chest. This can only be obtained here.
  • At King Level 14, the Level-Up Chest will have a guaranteed Champion card.
  • Do note: When the update goes live, you’ll be able to collect all of your previous Level-Up Chests up to your current Level.


  • The level cap is increased to Level 11 due to the addition of Champion cards.
  • All players joining Classic/Grand Challenge, Special Challenge & Global Tournament with have every card at Level 11 (even if they don't have the card, or don‘t have the card at Level 11), and will be able to build their own deck from scratch, even with Champion cards.

Summer 2021 Update (7/6/2021)

Clan Wars 2 Changes

  • Fame has been renamed to Medals.
  • Boats now move on the river at the end of each day, as opposed to moving immediately upon gaining Medals. Players will move a certain distance based on how many Medals they have in relation to the other clans (1st - 5th).
  • The first 3 days of each Clan War are now "Training Days", where only Gold can be gained from War Tasks, and opposing Clan Boats cannot be attacked. The remaining days are "Battle Days", where Gold and Medals can be gained from War Tasks, and Clan Boats will be vulnerable to attack.

Chest Changes

  • A new type of Chest which can be gained from winning ladder or Party mode matches has been introduced, which will only reward Gold. There are 3 types of Gold Crates, which award different amounts of Gold and have different unlocking times:
    • Gold Crate (3 hours to unlock).
    • Plentiful Gold Crate (8 hours to unlock).
    • Overflowing Gold Crate (12 hours to unlock).
  • Gold Crates will replace Silver and Gold Chests in the Chest Cycle.
  • King Level 11, 12, and 13 will now have different Chest cycles, as opposed to King Levels 1-10.

Trophy Road Changes

  • Leagues now begin at 5,000 Trophies. Between 4,000 and 5,000 Trophies, two new Arenas have been added:
    • Rascal's Hideout (Season 10 Arena - 4,200 Trophies).
    • Serenity Peak (Season 7 Arena - 4,600 trophies).
  • Victory Gold now scales to Arena 14 (Serenity Peak).
  • Chest contents now scale to Arena 15 (Legendary Arena).
  • The amount of Trophies lost when losing a Battle in the Challenger Leagues has been greatly increased.
  • In higher Leagues, the percentage of Trophies lost from the seasonal reset has been reduced:
    • In the Challenger Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 50%, the previous amount for all players in Leagues.
    • In the Master Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 40%.
    • In the Champion Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 30%.
  • The Legendary League, and Trophy Road, now extend to 8,000 Trophies.
  • Trophy Road rewards above 3,300 trophies have been renewed and become available to collect again.
  • Card unlocks have been shuffled around to accommodate for the new Arenas.

Other Changes

  • Players who are at King Level 8 or higher can access 10 Deck slots.
  • Replays can now be fast forwarded and rewinded.
  • Players can now choose to randomize their Tower Skin upon entering a Battle.
  • Trophy Road rewards above 5,000 Trophies now contain more Wild Cards and be more frequent overall.
  • Friendly Battles now have 15 game modes that will always be available.

Magic Items

  • A new category of items has been introduced, allowing players to upgrade cards more quickly as well as have more choice over which cards they receive. They are as follows:
  • Wild Card - comes in the four card rarities. These can be converted into any card of its rarity that the player owns. When opening a Chest above Arena 4, there is a chance that the player will receive a Wild Card in lieu of a regular card.
  • Book of Cards - instantly gives the player the amount of cards needed to upgrade a card to its next Level. Like Wild Cards, these come in four rarities. There is also a "Book of Books", which can be used for any card rarity.
  • Magic Coin - allows the player to upgrade a card to its next level without spending any of their current Gold.
  • Chest Key - allows the player to immediately open a chest won via the ladder, as opposed to having to spend Gems.
  • Magic Items are available via Chests, Trophy Road, paid offers in the Shop, Special Challenges, and Pass Royale (note that not all Magic Items are available through all methods).
  • Wild Card information has been added to the Shop chest, Chest slot, Chest content, and Shop confirm pop-ups.

Clan War 2 and UI changes

  • Leaders and Co-leaders can now 'nudge' players to remind them to do their battles!
  • "Decks Remaining Today" is now visible on the UI.
  • War deck cooldowns are synchronized with each individual Clan’s war week start. There is no longer a delay where some Clans can use an ‘extra set’ of War Deck attacks before the War Decks reset for everyone.
  • Fame rewards have been simplified - Card Levels will no longer impact the amount of Fame gained from performing River Tasks.
  • The Battle Deck UI has been updated.

Clan Wars Improvement Update (18/11/2020)

Clan War Changes

  • The reset time of War Decks no longer corresponds to the player's local time zone. All War Decks now refresh at 10AM UTC.
  • The matchmaking between Clans in Clan Wars has been updated to account for overall player skill and activity.
  • Legendary II (beginning at 4,000 Clan Trophies) and Legendary III (beginning at 5,000 Clan Trophies) have been added as further divisions of the Legendary League, with rewards scaling accordingly.
  • The amount of unique participants who can play in a Clan War has been set to 50. Clans also now require a minimum of 10 eligible players to be able to participate in Clan Wars; however, dropping below 10 eligible players will not remove the Clan in the middle of a War.
  • In the final week's River Race, after completing the half-length River Race, regular Duels can no longer be played. The Colosseum has a new visual indicator directing players to Duel there.
  • In the last 3 days of a River Race, all Fame and Repair Points earned will be doubled.
  • A new game mode will rotate in each week, in addition to Duels and Battles.

Interface Changes

  • The Supercell ID menu can now be accessed directly from the drop-down menu on the home screen.
  • If the player has multiple Supercell ID accounts saved on their device, a new button beside the Supercell ID button will appear, allowing them to quickly switch between them.
  • Adding someone as a friend in one Supercell game will automatically add them as friends in other Supercell games, as long as both players are linked to Supercell ID.
  • It is now possible to view what a friend is playing from the Supercell ID friend list and join them directly.
  • A QR code containing a friend link can now be generated and scanned, allowing players to add each other more easily.
  • In the Clan menu, each player's League division and donation count is now displayed.

Clan Wars II

  • An overhaul to the Clan Wars feature was added, and now involves Clans performing tasks to sail down to the end of a river. Reaching the end faster than other Clans rewards a bigger prize. The Chest can be claimed immediately upon finishing. The King Level threshold to participate in Clan Wars was also lowered, allowing players with a Level 6 King's Tower to participate.

Free Gifts

  • Quests and the free gifts alongside it were removed in order to streamline the rewarding of daily gifts. Now, a free gift is always be available in the Shop daily. This gift rewards slightly more than if the player collected all 3 of their free gifts previously.

Other Changes

  • Card info screens for the Battle Healer, Earthquake, Heal Spirit, and Royal Delivery were updated.
  • Cloned units can no longer be healed.
  • 4-year and 5-year Player Profile badges were added.
  • The Social tab was renamed to Clan.
    • Clan tab UI and Clan search functions were updated.
    • The friends list was moved to the home screen.
  • A "Magic" button now exists in certain deck building modes, randomly creating a deck when tapped.

Game Rule Changes

  • All matches can now only go up to five minutes long instead of six. In regular matches, Overtime lasts last for two minutes instead of three, and the final minute has Elixir generate at triple the rate instead of double.
  • Double and Triple Elixir game modes have a simple one-minute reduction on match length.
  • The Sudden Death game mode now lasts five minutes instead of three. The first two minutes have double Elixir generation while the last three minutes have tripled Elixir generation.
  • The Ramp Up game mode increases the Elixir generation multiplier every minute. At the first minute, it is normal, and at the second, it is doubled, going all the way to having quintupled Elixir generation in the final minute of the game.
  • Spawning modes such as Wall Breakers Rush have normal Elixir generation in the first minute, the next two minutes with doubled Elixir generation, and the last two minutes with tripled Elixir generation.

Card Info Screens

  • The card info screens have received a makeover. Tapping the card's "Info" or "Upgrade" button reveals a new pop-up, showing the card's name, a unique vector graphic, Level, rarity, card type, amount of cards obtained, and if the card is able to be upgraded, its Experience gain and upgrade cost. It features an interactive display with three pages. The first page shows a short video of the card in action, displaying what the card is strong against and weak against. The second page has the card's stats. The final page has the card's description.
  • Over time, the card stats will be updated with more in-depth information, such as an area damage radius.
  • Cards without a unique vector graphic will receive one over time.

New "Party!" Button

  • The 2v2 button has been moved inside the Party Button's menu. The Party button functions as a hub for several casual modes where players can earn crowns, victory Gold, and Chests, without the risk of losing Trophies, just like how 2v2 works. Aside from the 2v2 mode, the playable special modes will rotate between each other every 48 hours.
  • The matchmaking algorithm for modes in the Party Button is different than regular ladder, factoring in both card Levels and King Tower Levels.

Triple Draft

  • A variation of the existing Draft mode has been introduced in Friendly Battles. Instead of picking one card out of two and giving the other to the opponent four times, the player will pick one out of three cards eight times, with the other two cards being discarded. The player will also be able to see what three cards their opponent can pick from, and vice versa. However, neither player can know for certain what card their opponent picked out of the three cards.

Supercell ID Emote

  • A new Emote is available, exclusive to players who have their account connected to Supercell ID. The emote is the chicken from one of Supercell's other mobile games, Hay Day, clucking.


  • A tiebreaker system has been introduced in all modes outside of 1v1 Ladder when a match has ran out of time in Overtime. At the end of the match, all the Towers of each player will rapidly lose health until one is destroyed before the other, making draws extremely rare.

Crown Rush

  • Similar to Gold Rush, Crown Rush is a limited-time event in which players can earn double the crowns from 1v1 Ladder. The amount gained varies based on Arena and League, but can go up to a possible 30 extra obtainable crowns.

Quality of Life Changes

  • Inactive Clan Leaders will now have their Leader role to the longest serving Co-leader. This will happen after 35 days of inactivity (warning messages will be sent 14 days and 3 days before they are rotated). If there is no Co-leader, the Leader role will be given to the longest serving Elder.
  • At the end of a match, the countdown timer & text is now transparent.

New Star Levels

  • Bomber and Cannon have received new Star Levels; Star Level 2 and 3 respectively.

Introducing… Trophy Road!

  • A brand new way to progress in Clash Royale 1v1 Ladder Battles!
  • Collect rewards as you earn Trophies and progress through the Arenas!
  • The higher your Trophies, the better the rewards! Earn Gems, Gold, Chests, stacks of cards (of different rarities), Trade Tokens AND Emotes on the Trophy Road!
  • Protect your Trophies! Reaching a new Arena activates a Trophy Gate! This means you can’t drop below the Trophies needed for that Arena, or drop to a lower Arena! Once you hit 4,000 Trophies, you will not drop below Legendary Arena’s Trophy Gate of 4000, but you can drop through League rankings.
  • Activate Chest Speed Up Boosts for 24 hours when reaching a new Arena - unlock those new Arena Chests faster!
  • Set your goals! See your Trophy Progress and what you need to do to get that next reward.
  • New rewards every Season! At the end of each League Season, alongside the Trophy reset, you will also reset your Trophy Road progress from 4,000+. This means that each Season you will be able to earn new rewards throughout! Because of this, we are removing the League Chest, allowing you to instead earn rewards as you progress through a Season.

New Game Modes! Mega Deck

Elixir Capture

1v1 Arena Battles Improvements

  • Supercell has rearranged the unlock order of cards throughout the Arenas for the following reasons:
    • To create Arenas where cards complement each other mechanically.
    • Ensure there are always answers to win conditions within an Arena.
    • Move low use rate, spicy cards to later Arenas.
    • Where possible, match cards thematically to their Arena.
    • Each new Arena will introduce new or unique mechanics.
  • Supercell changed the League Season reset points:
    • Trophies above 4,000 (up to 7,600) will be reduced by 50% - e.g. a player at exactly 5,000 Trophies will be reset to 4,500.
    • This new, more gradual system will give everyone playing 1v1 Arena Battles a better time when the League Season resets each month!

Maintenance Break (13/1/2016)

  • Testing new network technology to make the game more responsive and decrease network lag.
  • Adding notifications for top 500 players when they're matchmaking for over 20 seconds (it should now inform other players that someone is looking for a match).
  • Adding notifications to let players know when one of their games has made it to TV Royale.
  • Transferring Game Center accounts between devices is now enabled at XP level 2.
