Throughout the course of time, Supercell has introduced updates to Clash Royale that fix bugs, balance battles, and/or introduce new Cards or features.


December Update (2/12/19)

SEASON 6: CLASHMAS

Pass Royale and more

  • New Tower Skins - Clashmas Tower, Gingerbread Tower, and Igloo.
    • The Clashmas Tower is part of the paid Pass Royale rewards, while the Igloo is obtainable for all players from the Free Pass Royale rewards. The Gingerbread Tower will be available for purchase in the Shop on December 23rd.
  • New Exclusive Emote - Tree Hog .
  • New Arena - Clashmas Arena: a reskin of Legendary Arena becomes the main visual arena above 4000 Trophies and before 7000 Trophies.
  • New Card - Battle Healer. She is unlockable early from Challenges on December 2nd and December 23rd, as well as on Trophy Road.
  • New Card Level Boost - newly released cards can temporarily be used at the level matching the player's King Level for the first season the card has been released in. The boost will still match the player's King Level even if the player levels up. This feature is available to all players.
  • Classic Decks have been updated to this list.

Season 6 Balance Changes

  • Elixir Golem: Hit speed universalised to 1.3 sec (also affects Elixir Golemites and Elixir Blobs).
  • Knight: Hitpoints +5%.
  • Three Musketeers: Deploy Time decreased from 3 seconds to 2 seconds, stagger time increased from 0.15 seconds to 0.5 seconds.

End of November Update (27/11/19)

Game Rule Changes

All matches can now only go up to five minutes long instead of six. In regular matches, Overtime will last for two minutes instead of three, and the final minute will have triple Elixir generation instead of double.

  • Double and Triple Elixir game modes will have a simple one minute reduction on match length.
  • The Sudden Death game mode will now last five minutes instead of three. The first two minutes will have double Elixir generation while the last three minutes will have tripled Elixir generation.
  • The Ramp Up game mode will increase the Elixir generation multiplier every minute. At the first minute, it will be normal generation, and at the second, it will be doubled, going all the way to having quintupled Elixir generation in the final minute of the game.
  • Spawning modes such as Wall Breakers Rush will have the first minute with normal Elixir generation, the next two minutes with doubled Elixir generation, and the last two minutes with tripled Elixir generation.

Card Info Screens

The card info screens have received a makeover. Tapping the card's "Info" or "Upgrade" button will have a new pop-up, showing the card's name, a unique vector graphic, level, rarity, card type, amount of cards obtained, and if the card is able to be upgraded, its experience gain and upgrade cost. It features an interactive display with three pages. The first page shows a short video of the card in action, displaying what the card is strong against and weak against. The second page has the card's stats. The final page has the card's description.

  • Over time, the card stats will be updated with more in-depth information, such as splash damage radius.
  • Cards without a unique vector graphic will receive one over time.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • Hog Rider, Royal Hogs, Ram Rider, and the Freeze spell will no longer be selectable in the deck builder for Mega Touchdown.
  • In 2v2 Touchdown Draft, each player is now guaranteed to receive one 'fast runner' (such as Hog Rider) and one 'big runner' (such as Giant).
  • Trophy Road has been updated so that Royal Hogs, Heal, and Elixir Golem can now be received from the reward nodes from the arena they are unlocked in.

Bug Fixes

  • Victory Gold rewards are now consistent with the player's current Arena.
  • Death Damage, such as from the Balloon's bomb, will no longer be able to damage Towers during a tiebreaker.
  • Text localization for card info screens has been updated.
  • The information card for Triple Draft has been updated.
  • Fixed a bug where the player would receive a permanent in-game notification after unlocking a Tower skin.
  • Some UI layer sizing issues were fixed.
  • Several crashing issues were fixed.
  • An infamous oversight where a card could be incorrectly selected and play in place of another card, has been fixed.
  • Cards will now be dealt to the player's hand faster as well as respond faster.
    • This is dependent on how fast Elixir is being generated.
    • 1x Elixir: 2000ms -> 1000ms
    • 2x Elixir: 1000ms -> 500ms
    • 3x Elixir: 500ms -> 350ms
    • 4x Elixir: 250ms (not possible to achieve this level of Elixir production prior to this update) -> 250ms
    • 5x Elixir: 100ms (not possible to achieve this level of Elixir production prior to this update) -> 200ms
  • Mirrored versions of cards will have a Mirror effect on deploy to make it clear when a card has been Mirrored.
  • A beta version of the Supercell Creator program has been added, where players can input a code that will give a small portion of money to a creator whenever the player makes a purchase using real money.

Balance Changes

  • Arrows (REWORK): Damage split across three waves of arrows instead of one; Damage +23%.
  • Executioner (REVERSION): Hitpoints +5%, Hit Speed +4% (2.5 seconds -> 2.4 seconds), Initiation Range +12.5% (4 tiles -> 4.5 tiles), Axe Range +30% (5 tiles -> 6.5 tiles), Axe Radius +25% (0.8 tiles -> 1 tile), Damage -45%.
  • Witch (partial reversion): Added Area Damage; Damage -49%, Hit Speed +35% (1.7 seconds -> 1.1 seconds).

November Update (4/11/19)

SEASON 5: GREAT GOBLIN FEAST

Pass Royale and more

  • Added New Tower Skin - Party Hut.
  • Added New Exclusive Dart Goblin Emote.
  • Added New Arena - Great Goblin Feast, a reskin of Legendary Arena where it is decorated with disco balls and party lights, along with a grassy playing field becomes the main visual arena above 4000 Trophies and before 7000 Trophies.
  • Added new combination of modes - Double Elixir Mega Deck Touchdown. This may replace the current 2v2 Draft Touchdown as the primary Party Touchdown mode.
    • 2v2 Touchdown has been updated with different draft choices, and unlike other 2v2 modes, Elixir generation will no longer be decreased.
  • Tiebreakers will be present in 1v1 Ladder alongside all other game modes.
  • Elixir Golem will be unlockable from all chests above Arena 11 (Electro Valley).
    • The Heal spell will now be unlockable from Arena 10 (Hog Mountain) instead of Arena 7 (Royal Arena).
    • The Royal Hogs will now be unlockable from Arena 7 (Royal Arena) instead of Arena 10 (Hog Mountain).
  • Classic Decks have been updated to this list.

Season 5 Balance Changes

  • Elixir Golem: Hitpoints -10% (also affects Elixir Golemites and Elixir Blobs).
  • Wall Breakers: Area Damage Radius 2.0 -> 1.5, Damage -19%, deploy area adjusted (Wall Breakers spawn further apart from each other, fixes True Red and True Blue splitting issues).
  • Fisherman: Hook Range 7 -> 6 tiles, Hook Charge Time +10% (1 sec -> 1.1 sec).
  • Witch: Removed area damage, Hit speed 1.4 -> 1.7 sec, Initial skeleton spawn delay from 1 sec -> 3.5 secs, Mass +100%.
  • Executioner: Axe's maximum range increased from 4.5 tiles -> 5 tiles, Axe's radius -20% (1 tile -> 0.8 tiles), Axe Hover duration from 1 sec -> 1.2 secs.
  • Barbarian Barrel: Damage +8%.
  • Baby Dragon: Hitpoints -4.5%.

October Update (7/10/19)

SEASON 4: SHOCKTOBER

Pass Royale and more

  • Paid Pass Royale tiers have been shuffled around slightly.
  • New Paid Pass Royale feature - Bonus Bank. After reaching Tier 35, every 10 extra crowns earned will be converted into 250 Gold and stored in the Bonus Bank, which can hold up to 10000 Gold. Once the next season arrived, the Gold will be claimable.
  • New Pass Royale Clan Gift - Whenever a player in a clan buys Pass Royale, the pop-up in the clan chat will also include a small Gold gift (amount varies based on player level, up to 500 Gold per gift) claimable by any player, once each. A player can only claim up to 10 of these per season.
    • If a player joins a clan after a member has bought Pass Royale, the joiner will be unable to collect the Gold gift.
  • Added New Tower Skin - Jack-O'-Lantern Pumpkin.
  • Added New Exclusive Day of the Dead Skeleton Emote, based on Poco from Brawl Stars.
  • A skin of Legendary Arena where the water is replaced with Elixir and decorated with pumpkins becomes the main visual arena above 4000 Trophies. It is currently unnamed.
  • Added New sub-mode of the Troop Rush Game Mode - Ghost Parade, involving spawned Royal Ghosts, and Grave Guards, involving Guards that are randomly spawned around the arena.
  • Trophy Road rewards have been updated and reshuffled.
    • For example, the 100 Gems previously obtainable from reaching 5450 Trophies have been split further up the Road, and choices been a specific legendary and a random one are now available.
  • Elixir Golem becomes unlockable early from a special draft challenge involving it.
  • Classic Decks have been updated to this list.

Season 4 Balance Changes

  • Witch (REWORK): Hitpoints -12%, Damage +220%, Hit speed +0.4 sec (1 sec -> 1.4 sec), Splash Radius -45%, Spawn Speed +2 sec (5 sec -> 7 sec), now spawns 4 Skeletons in radius around herself, no longer spawns Skeletons upon death.
  • Night Witch: Bats spawned upon death 2 -> 4.
  • Wall Breakers: Elixir Cost 3 -> 2, Damage -10%, Mass +100%
  • Fisherman: Hitpoints -5%, Damage -6%.
  • Hunter: Damage +2%.
  • Giant Snowball: Knockback Effect -17% (1.8 tiles -> 1.5 tiles)

End of September Update (30/9/19)

New "Party!" Button

  • The 2v2 button has been moved inside the Party Button's menu. The Party button functions as a hub for several casual modes where players can earn crowns, victory gold, and chests, without the risk of losing trophies, just like how 2v2 works.
    • Aside from the 2v2 mode, the playable special modes will rotate between each other every 48 hours.
  • The matchmaking algorithm for modes in the Party Button is different than regular ladder, factoring in both card levels and King Tower levels.

Triple Draft

A variation of the existing draft mode has been introduced in Friendly Battles. Instead of picking one card out of two and giving the other to the opponent four times, the player will pick one out of three cards eight times, with the other two cards being discarded. The player will also be able to see what three cards their opponent can pick from, and vice versa. However, neither player can know for certain what card their opponent picked out of the three cards.

Supercell ID Emote

A new emote is available, exclusive to players who have their account connected to Supercell ID. The emote is the chicken from one of Supercell's other mobile games, Hay Day, clucking.

Tiebreakers

A tiebreaker system has been introduced in all modes outside of 1v1 Ladder when a match has ran out of time in Overtime. At the end of the match, all the towers of each player will rapidly lose health until one is destroyed before the other, making draws extremely rare.

Crown Rush

Similar to Gold Rush, Crown Rush is a limited time event in which players can earn double the crowns from 1v1 Ladder. The amount gained varies based on Arena and League, but can go up to a possible 30 extra obtainable crowns.

Quality of Life Changes

  • Inactive Clan Leaders will now have their Leader role to the longest serving Co-leader. This will happen after 35 days of inactivity (warning messages will be sent 14 days and 3 days before they are rotated).
    • If there is no Co-leader, the Leader role will be given to the longest serving Elder.
  • Emote Deck' renamed to 'Personalize'.
  • Improved support help from the Sparky game support bot.
  • Improved player support tools.
  • Third party tournament organizers can now access replays via deeplinks.
  • Shop UI has been tweaked.
  • Settings menu has been revamped.
  • Pass Royale screen has received some touching up.
  • Clash Royale no longer supports Android devices with a x86 processor.

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed display issue with Tournament tab in the Activity log where the tab would flash repeatedly if the player was underneath King Level 5.
  • Fixed replay controls not being available in certain replays.
  • Fixed a rare crash issue when cancelling 2v2 matchmaking.
  • Fixed an issue where the UI did not refresh correctly on the Pass reward track after closing the Trophy Road.
  • Global Tournament images are no longer be stretched to fit the dimensions of their respective menus.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when leaving a clan and immediately joining another clan.
  • Fixed a crash on a first time launch after a reinstall.
  • Fixed a crash that could be encountered if the player had not completed the tutorial in one session.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when skipping Pass Royale Reward Tiers with Gems.
  • Fixed a bug that forced some offset graphical effects to display.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when opening a chest from the Daily Deal.
  • Fixed a glitch where players would experience a Season Trophy reset when they first reached the Trophy Leagues.

September Update (2/9/19)

SEASON 3: BE LEGENDARY

Pass Royale and more

  • Paid Pass Royale tiers have been shuffled around slightly.
    • For example, the Legendary Chest is back at tier 35 to take advantage of the multiple strikes, and the tower skin is unlocked at tier 10.
  • Added New Tower Skin - Fortress.
  • Added New Exclusive Sunglasses Princess Emote.
    • Added New Night Witch Emote as a collectible from a draft challenge involving her.
    • Added New Miner Emote as a collectible from a draft challenge involving him.
  • Legendary Arena returns as the main visual arena above 4000 Trophies.
  • Added New sub-mode of the Troop Rush Game Mode: Bandit Dash and new sub-mode of the Built Deck Game Mode: Legendary Party (decks contain all Legendary Cards).
  • Trophy Road has been updated again to replace the Fisherman legendary cards with a Legendary Chest instead.
  • A small visual bug was fixed where the Giant's range was incorrectly displayed as Melee: Long when its range was Melee: Medium.
  • Classic Decks have been updated to this list.

  • Executioner (REWORK): Damage +82%, Axe Return Speed 1.5s -> 1s, Hitpoints -5%, Hitspeed 2.4s -> 2.5s, Range 4.5-6.5 -> 3-4.5
  • Royal Ghost: Damage Radius 0.8 tiles -> 1 tile

April Update (15/4/19)

Introducing… Trophy Road!

  • A brand new way to progress in Clash Royale 1v1 Ladder Battles!
  • Collect rewards as you earn Trophies and progress through the Arenas!
  • The higher your Trophies, the better the rewards! Earn Gems, gold, Chests, stacks of cards (of different rarities), Trade Tokens AND Emotes on the Trophy Road!
  • Protect your Trophies! Reaching a new Arena activates a Trophy Gate! This means you can’t drop below the Trophies needed for that Arena, or drop to a lower Arena! Once you hit 4000 Trophies, you will not drop below Legendary Arena’s Trophy Gate of 4000, but you can drop through League rankings.
  • Activate Chest Speed Up Boosts for 24 hours when reaching a new Arena - unlock those new Arena Chests faster!
  • Set your goals! See your Trophy Progress and what you need to do to get that next reward.
  • New rewards every Season! At the end of each League Season, alongside the Trophy reset, you will also reset your Trophy Road progress from 4000+. This means that each Season you will be able to earn new rewards throughout! Because of this, we are removing the League Chest, allowing you to instead earn rewards as you progress through a Season.
  • Royal Champion League lands in at 6600 Trophies, with Ultimate Champion League now starting at 7000+ trophies!
  • View your friends' progress! Enjoy some healthy competition with your friends & Clan members - view their progress on the Trophy Road!
  • Existing/returning players will unlock ALL Trophy Road rewards - up to their current Trophies - after updating. Nice!

New Card!

  • Earthquake is a Rare Spell that Deals full Damage per second to Crown Towers and 400% Damage to all other buildings. It damages and slows ground Troops, but does not affect flying units.
  • Goblin Cage is a Rare Building that would be added over time.

New Game Modes!

Mega Deck

  • Increased Elixir generation
  • Increased Deck size (8 Cards -> 18 Cards - that’s how Mega works)
  • Develop new strategies, and new ways to defeat your opponent!

Elixir Capture

  • Use Elixir from the Arena to defeat your opponent!
  • Elixir spawns on both bridges, and must be collected by Troops!
  • An Elixir Storage in the middle of the Arena gives 2 Elixir when destroyed.
  • The Elixir Storage has two health bars. Whichever side to deplete their own health bar first get the Elixir.
  • Use this extra Elixir to gain an advantage over your opponent!

Dragon Hunt

  • Players hunt an Elixir Egg with two health bars and the first to destroy their own health bar spawns a Dragon for their side!
  • When the Elixir Egg is destroyed, another one spawns after 30 seconds
  • The spawned Dragon can be either Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, or Electro Dragon!

Home Screen (Battle Tab) Changes

  • "Help, I can't find Leaderboards or Training Camp!"
    • We have cleaned up the Battle Tab, and rearranged some things. The Battle Tab menu now contains the following...
    • Activity Log, Leaderboards, TV Royale, Training Camp, Tournaments and Settings.

April Balance Changes (1/4/19)

  • Witch: Spawns 3 Skeletons when destroyed
  • Flying Machine: Hit Speed reduced 1.0sec -> 1.1sec
  • Ram Rider: Snare Movement Reduction reduced 100% -> 85%
  • Giant Skeleton: First Attack faster 0.5sec -> 0.3sec, Mass increased 15 -> 18 (harder to move/push)

March Balance Changes (4/3/19)

  • Fixed for Emotes image not being removed from Shop after being purchased.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Global Tournament Bonus Rewards unable to be discarded.
  • Mirrored Three Musketeers will now not display 11 elixir cost.
  • Spectator UI fixed for iPhone X (and similar aspect ratio devices).
  • Fix for Player Profile displaying "Arena 13" instead of League 1.
  • Fixed game crash that sometimes occurred when navigating to Clan War screen right after installing and loading.

  • With the addition of Spooky Town, Supercell have reshuffled several card unlocks throughout the Arenas - so you may have access to some new cards now!
  • Note: any cards that you've already unlocked will still appear in your chests!
  • Clone: Original units are shifted to the front (previously to the left), cloned units appear on the back (previously to the right).

January Balance Changes (7/1/19)

  • Heal: Elixir cost decreased 3 -> 1, duration -0.5sec, healing per second -63%.
  • Magic Archer: First attack faster.
  • Goblin Giant: Hitpoints +3%, Spear Goblin range +0.5 while in backpack.
  • Golem: Golemite death damage pushback reduced.
  • Freeze: Crown Tower damage -65%.
  • Sparky: Range +0.5.
  • Battle Ram: Ram's damage (both normal and charged) -11%.

Star Points

1v1 Arena Battles Improvements

  • Supercell have rearranged the unlock order of cards throughout the Arenas for the following reasons:

    • Where possible, match cards thematically to their Arena.
  • Each new Arena will introduce new or unique mechanics.
  • Supercell changed the League Season reset points:

  • Info screens for some cards changed.
  • The Card Shop interface has been changed. Now cards are placed on a wooden shelf, with a goblin on top holding a watch. The watch may be the "countdown" for the card change.
