Throughout the course of time, Supercell has introduced updates to Clash Royale that fix bugs, balance battles, introduce new Cards and create new game mechanics.


November Update (1/11/21)

Season 29: The Champions Have Arrived

2021 Quarter 3 Update (27/10/21)

King Level 14

  • Cards and Crown Towers can now be upgraded to Level 14.
  • The Experience requirements for certain King Levels have been reduced:
    • Upgrading from King Level 10 to 11 now only requires 20,000 EXP (previously 30,000).
    • Upgrading from King Level 11 to 12 now only requires 35,000 EXP (previously 40,000).
    • Upgrading from King Level 12 to 13 now only requires 50,000 EXP (previously 80,000).
    • The upgrade from King Level 13 to 14 costs the same amount of EXP as the old Level 12 to 13 upgrade.
    • Players could experience an automatic King Level upgrade after the update due to these changes.
    • King Level 13 players gained further EXP based on their card upgrades and donations after reaching Level 13.
  • The Card requirements for certain levels have been reduced:
    • Upgrading a Common card from Level 11 to 12 now only requires 1,500 cards (previously 2,000).
    • Upgrading a Common card from Level 12 to 13 now only requires 3,000 cards (previously 5,000).
    • Upgrading a Rare card from Level 11 to 12 now only requires 500 cards (previously 800).
    • Upgrading a Rare card from Level 12 to 13 now only requires 750 cards (previously 1,000).
    • Upgrading a Epic card from Level 10 to 11 now only requires 40 cards (previously 50).
    • Upgrading a Epic card from Level 11 to 12 now only requires 50 cards (previously 100).
    • Upgrading a Epic card from Level 12 to 13 now only requires 100 cards (previously 200).
    • Upgrading a Legendary card from Level 11 to 12 now only requires 6 cards (previously 10).
    • Upgrading a Legendary card from Level 12 to 13 now only requires 10 cards (previously 20).
  • Players who previously upgraded these card rarities at these levels were compensated with the card difference between the old and new values. For example, a Level 12 Common card before the update received 500 more copies after the update (2000 - 1500).
  • The Gold requirements for certain levels have been reduced:
    • Upgrading a card from Level 10 to 11 now only requires 15,000 Gold (previously 20,000).
    • Upgrading a card from Level 11 to 12 now only requires 35,000 Gold (previously 50,000).
    • Upgrading a card from Level 12 to 13 now only requires 75,000 Gold (previously 100,000).
  • The upgrade from Level 13 to 14 costs the same amount of Cards and Gold as the old Level 12 to 13 upgrade.


  • Champions are a new rarity, unlocked at King level 14.
  • There can be only 1 Champion in your deck and in play.
  • There are 3 Champions. Those are: Skeleton King, Archer Queen & Golden Knight

Star Points

  • Star Points can now be spent starting from King Level 6.
  • Star Points now accumulate from King Level 1. As a result, Star Points have been separated from EXP, though they are still gained at the same rate in the same manner.
  • Star Levels now unlock based on a card's level:
    • Star Level 1 unlocks for Cards at Level 7
    • Star Level 2 unlocks for Cards at Level 10
    • Star Level 3 unlocks for Cards at Level 13
  • The cost to upgrade a Star Level has been decreased:
  • During a troop's preview you may click on the top left to show the card at Star Level 1/2/3.

King's Journey

  • King's Journey is a progression road based on experience (like trophy road), but for your King Level
  • Each time you unlock a new king-level, you will get a "King Level Chest". This can only be optaind here.
  • At king-level 14, the "King Level Chest" with have a guaranteed Champion.
  • Each king-level also gives perks (like star points), and the HP + Damage of your towers with increase
  • Do note: When the update goes live, you’ll be able to collect all of your previous level up chests up to your current level.


  • The level-cap is increased to level 11 due to the addition of Champions
  • All players joining Classic/Grand Challenge, Special Challenge & Global Tournament with have EVERY card at level 11 (even if you dont have the card, or don‘t have the card at level 11), and will be able to build their own deck from scratch, even with Champions.


  • There is a new chest cycle, with Gold Crates at KL 10
  • Legendary cards appear more often. Champions’ drop rate will be similar to how Legendary cards used to drop before the update.
  • Increased cooldown time between emotes used in battle.

Slash Royale Update (18/10/21 - 26/10/21)

  • During the event, all upgrade costs are cut in half (both for Gold and Star Points).
  • A "Great" Gold Rush is active, with more Gold available than a regular Gold Rush. Depending on the player's arena, up to 200,000 Gold can be earned.
  • A separate daily gift of Gold can be claimed, rewarding up to 50,000 Gold.
  • Special Event Challenges themed around Gold will be active during the event.
  • Various rarities of Books of Cards can be bought in the Shop for Gems, up to twice.

October Update (4/10/21)

Balance Changes (6/9/21)

  • Night Witch (REWORK): Death spawn count decreased to 0 (from 4), speed of first Bat spawn decreased to 1 sec (from 4 sec), Bat spawn interval decreased to 5 sec (from 7 sec).
  • Goblins: Distance between Goblins on spawn increased.
  • Bomb Tower: Lifetime increased to 30 sec (from 25 sec).
  • Guards: Damage +12%.
  • Tombstone: Death spawn count increased to 4 (from 3).
  • Poison: Added movement speed debuff (to 15% from 0%).
  • Hunter: First attack speed decreased to 0.9 sec (from 1.1 sec).
  • Giant Snowball: Knockback distance increased to 1.8 tiles (from 1.5 tiles).
  • Royal Hogs: Damage +6%.
  • Tesla: Lifetime decreased to 30 sec (from 35 sec).

  • Tiers will require 5 or 10 Crowns to unlock, as opposed to always requiring 10. The total amount of Crowns required to complete Pass Royale has decreased to 200 (from 350).
  • The Bonus Bank capacity will be increased to 25,000 Gold (from 10,000 Gold).
  • On 17/06/2021, a maintenance break nerfed the Goblin Drill: First Goblin spawn delayed (0s > 1s), Goblins spawn in a small circle when the Drill is destroyed, Push of other units when underground significantly reduced

2021 Quarter 2 Update

Clan Wars 2 Changes

  • Fame has been renamed to Medals.
  • Boats now move on the river at the end of each day, as opposed to moving immediately upon gaining Medals. Players will move a certain distance based on how many Medals they have in relation to the other clans (1st - 5th).
  • The first 3 days of each Clan War are now "Training Days", where only Gold can be gained from War Tasks, and opposing Clan Boats cannot be attacked. The remaining days are "Battle Days", where Gold and Medals can be gained from War Tasks, and Clan Boats will be vulnerable to attack.

Gold Crates

  • A new type of Chest which can be gained from winning ladder or Party mode matches has been introduced, which will only reward Gold. There are 3 types of Gold Crates, which award different amounts of Gold and have different unlocking times:
    • Gold Crate (3 hours to unlock)
    • Plentiful Gold Crate (8 hours to unlock)
    • Overflowing Gold Crate (12 hours to unlock)
  • Gold Crates will replace Silver and Gold Chests in the Chest Cycle.

Trophy Road Changes

  • Leagues now begin at 5,000 Trophies. Between 4,000 and 5,000 Trophies, two new Arenas have been added:
    • Rascal's Hideout (Season 10 Arena - 4,200 Trophies)
    • Serenity Peak (Season 7 Arena - 4,600 trophies)
  • Victory Gold now scales to Arena 14 (Serenity Peak).
  • Chest contents now scale to Arena 15 (Legendary Arena).
  • The amount of Trophies lost when losing a Battle in the Challenger Leagues has been greatly increased.
  • In higher Leagues, the percentage of Trophies lost from the seasonal reset has been reduced:
    • In the Challenger Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 50%, the previous amount for all players in Leagues.
    • In the Master Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 40%.
    • In the Champion Leagues, Trophy counts will be reset by 30%.
  • The Legendary League, and Trophy Road, now extend to 8,000 Trophies.
  • Trophy Road rewards above 3,300 trophies have been renewed and become available to collect again.
  • Card unlocks have been shuffled around to accommodate for the new Arenas.

Balance Changes (7/6/21)

  • Fire Spirit (REWORK): Elixir cost decreased to 1 (from 2), count decreased to 1 (from 3), damage +6%, Hitpoints +109%, range increased to 2.5 tiles (from 2 tiles), area damage radius increased to 2.5 tiles (from 1.7 tiles).
  • Furnace (REWORK): Time between waves decreased to 7 sec (from 9 sec), count per wave decrease to 1 (from 2), lifetime decreased to 49 sec (from 50 sec).
  • Rascal Girls: First attack speed decreased to 0.8 sec (from 1 sec).
  • Cannon: Hit speed decreased to 0.9 sec (from 1 sec).
  • Cannon Cart (stationary form): Hit speed decreased to 0.9 sec (from 1 sec).
  • Giant Skeleton: Death Damage dealt to Crown Tower +100%.
  • Elite Barbarians: Sight range increased to 6 tiles (from 5.5 tiles).
  • Golem: Death Damage -28%.
  • Ice Wizard: Hitpoints -3%.

Other Changes

  • Players who are at King Level 8 or higher can access 10 Deck slots.
  • Replays can now be fast forwarded and rewinded.
  • Players can now choose to randomize their tower skin upon entering a Battle.
  • Trophy Road rewards above 5,000 trophies now contain more Wild Cards and be more frequent overall.
  • Friendly Battles now have 15 game modes that will always be available.
  • It is now impossible to obtain Legendary Cards that are unlocked past your current Arena.

Bug Fixes

  • A bug which allowed more than 50 members to participate in a Clan War was fixed.
  • A bug related to the Magic Coin and trades was fixed. An exploit which allowed players to receive Card overflow Gold upon cancelling a trade was removed.
  • A bug where a card's deployment would lag if it was played as soon as it was dealt to the player's hand was fixed.
  • Players are now able spectate Supercell ID friends.
  • Various bugs related to Fisherman were fixed.
  • Bandit’s dash no longer continues after the timer reaches zero.
  • The strike icon from Pass Royale was removed.
  • A bug which removed Mirror's deployment animation and sound effect was fixed.
  • Minor improvements were made to the localization and UI.

  • Two previously released Emotes will now be available in the Shop. These emotes are the Goblin blowing a horn & Giant eating cake (Emotes 83 and 84 on the Emotes page respectively).

  • Pass Royale will unlock at King Level 4, as opposed to being available from the beginning of the game.
  • Magic Items will be available on both the free and paid sides of Pass Royale.
  • Classic Decks have returned and have been updated to this list.
  • On 07/04/2021, a maintenance break fixed: an issue with SCID friendly battles, an issue with spectating battles for SCID friends, the nudge push notification & other small things. It also adjusted the Elite Barbarians, decreasing their first hit speed to 0.5 sec from 0.4 sec (reversion of "2021 Quarter 1 Update" balance change).

2021 Quarter 1 Update (30/3/21)

Magic Items

Main article: Magic Items

A new category of items has been introduced, allowing players to upgrade cards more quickly as well as have more choice over which cards they receive. They are as follows:

  • Wild Card - comes in the four card rarities. These can be converted into any card of its rarity that the player owns. When opening a Chest above Arena 4, there is a chance that the player will receive a Wild Card in lieu of a regular card.
  • Book of Cards - instantly gives the player the amount of cards needed to upgrade a card to its next level. Like Wild Cards, these come in four rarities. There is also a "Book of Books", which can be used for any card rarity.
  • Magic Coin - allows the player to upgrade a card to its next level without spending any of their current Gold.
  • Chest Key - allows the player to immediately open a chest won via the ladder, as opposed to having to spend Gems.

Magic Items are available via Chests, Trophy Road, paid offers in the Shop, Special Challenges, and Pass Royale (note that not all Magic Items are available through all methods).

Clan War 2 and UI changes

  • Players can now be "nudged" as a reminder for Clan Wars.
  • "Decks Remaining Today" is now visible on the UI.
  • War deck cooldowns are synchronized with each individual clan’s war week start.
  • Fame rewards have been simplified - Card levels will no longer impact the amount of Fame gained from performing River Tasks.
  • The Battle Deck UI has been updated.
  • The context menu for Battle Decks has been updated - The "Magic" button will be available, which was previously only available in War Decks.
  • Emotes and Tower Skins now have separate sections, with Magic Items receiving their own section.

Balance Changes (30/3/21)

  • Mother Witch: Hit speed decreased to 1.1 seconds (from 1.2 seconds), first attack speed decreased to 0.4 seconds (from 0.5 seconds), damage +14%.
  • Witch: Range increased to 5.5 tiles (from 5 tiles).
  • Three Musketeers: Deploy time decreased to 1 second (from 2 seconds).
  • Elite Barbarians: Hit speed decreased to 1.4 seconds (from 1.5 seconds), first attack speed decreased to 0.4 seconds (from 0.5 seconds).
  • Heal Spirit: Damage +225%, healing radius decreased to 2.5 tiles (from 3.5 tiles).
  • Bomber: Elixir cost decreased to 2 (from 3), hitpoints -31%, damage -32%.
  • Giant Skeleton: Damage +29%, death damage -54%.
  • Bomb Tower: Death damage -50%.
  • Balloon: Death damage -27%.
  • Hunter: First attack speed increased to 1.1 seconds (from 0.7 seconds)
  • Zappies: First hit attack speed increased to 1.1 seconds (from 0.9 seconds - reversion of Season 15 balance change).
  • Knight: Hitpoints -5%.
  • Cannon Cart: Speed decreased to Medium (60, from Fast (90)).

Bug Fixes

  • Copying and pasting decks now work properly. Previously, sometimes a few cards would fail to copy correctly, resulting in visual glitches during battle.
  • A bug which allowed players to enter Clan War battles with incomplete (fewer than 8 cards) decks (which would cause the battle to be played with duplicate cards) has been fixed.
  • A bug which prevented players from attacking boat defenses has been fixed.
  • Battle log entries for Mega Decks now work properly.
  • Issues related to overtime effects between battles in Duels have been fixed.
  • A maintenance break after the update fixed a bug where the game could crash if the player opened their Tier 35 Chest from Pass Royale after the update.

March Update (1/3/21)

SEASON 21: Birthday Royale

  • New Tower Skin: Birthday Card (available at Tier 10 of paid Pass Royale)
  • New Exclusive Emote: "Sparky: Surprise" (available at Tier 20 of paid Pass Royale). Other birthday themed Emotes will be available through in-game Special Event Challenges or the Shop. Another emote, featuring a Battle Healer throwing a cake, will be given away by Clash Royale content creators throughout the month.
  • Four previously released Emotes will now be available in the Shop. These emotes are: Ram Rider screaming, Miner holding Red Pocket, Archer tacking her hood on & Archer cleaning her arrow (Emotes 74, 142, 168 and 169 on the Emotes page respectively).
  • Level Boost: Elixir Golem. Besides Elixir Golem, a new card will be boosted each week for one week, voted in by players (Elixir Golem will be boosted for the entire season). The weekly boosts are as follows:
  • Arena: Birthday Cake on Wheels, returning from Season 9.
  • Balance changes will be announced in April.
  • On 17/3/21, a maintenance break reduced the number of tutorial bots below 4000 Trophies & fixed minor problems in Clan War (Clans getting stuck). This also made the matchmaking change released in February 2021 stop applying above 5000 Trophies.

February Update (1/2/21)

SEASON 20: The Forbidden Palace

  • New Tower Skin: Forbidden Palace (available at Tier 10 of paid Pass Royale)
  • New Exclusive Emote: Elite Barbarian kissing. Another Emote of an Elite Barbarian eating candy will be available in the Shop.
  • Two previously released Emotes will now be available in the Shop. These emotes are the Lava Hound popping & the Dark Prince crying (Emotes 159 and 162 on the Emotes page respectively).
  • Level Boost: Prince & Princess
  • Arena: The Forbidden Palace. A new song will play instead of one of the three regular battle themes.
  • The seasonal Trophy reset will be reduced to 25% of one's total trophies above 4000 as opposed to the usual 50%.
  • On 11/2/21, a maintenance break fixed issues with the Clan chat filter & player names not displaying in Clan War logs.
    • It also adjusted the Earthquake, decreasing its Crown Tower damage by 15% and increasing its damage to all other builings by 16%.
  • On 25/2/21, a maintenace break fixed Colosseum Duel matches & a potential bug where Clans could get stuck in a River Race if there was an overtime Boat Battle ongoing at the end.
    • This also changed matchmaking for all players in 1v1 Ladder, with the game highly prioritizing battles against players with a King level one level below, equal to, or one level above the player. However, if the player waits on the loading-screen for too long, the level limit can increase to up to three levels higher or lower of the player's King level.

January Update (4/1/21)

SEASON 19: Stay Cool

  • New Tower Skin: Frozen Tower (available at Tier 10 of paid Pass Royale)
  • New Exclusive Emote: An Ice Wizard dancing. Another Emote of an Ice Wizard eating popcorn will be available in the Shop.
  • Level Boost: Mother Witch & Ice Wizard
  • The Sudden Death, Mini Collection, Draft, Triple Draft, and Mirror Battle game modes will be featured throughout the season.
  • Frozen Peak (Arena 8) becomes the visual Arena between 4,000 to 6,999 Trophies.
  • Trophy changes in Season 18 partially reverted; between 4,000 to 6,000 Trophies, players lose less trophies than they gain from victories.

December Update (7/12/20)

SEASON 18: Logmas

  • New Tower Skins: "Clashmas Sled" (available at Tier 10 of paid Pass Royale) and "Logmas" (as part of a paid offer in the Shop)
  • New Card: A Mother Witch, who places a curse on any troops she attacks. If the troop dies while it is cursed, a Cursed Hog will spawn and head for nearby buildings.
  • New Exclusive Emotes: "Bowler Gift" (available at Tier 20 of paid Pass Royale) and "The Log: Logmas" (available at Tier 5 of free Pass Royale). Several other emotes will be released throughout the season.
  • Level Boost: Mother Witch & The Log

  • Classic Decks have come back, in a challenge. Here is the Decks.
  • The amount of Trophies lost upon a loss have been increased overall, with the increases tapering off the closer one gets to the 6000 Trophy mark. At Arena 4 or above, all players now lose as much Trophies from losses as they gain from victories (there can still be more trophy gaining than losing due to Trophy Gates).

Season 18 Balance Changes

  • X-Bow: Life Time decreased to 30 sec (from 40 sec), hit speed increased to 0.30 sec (from 0.25 sec), hitpoints -4%, damage +30%.
  • Guards: Hit speed decreased to 1.0 sec (from 1.1 sec), Hitpoints -26%.
  • Goblin Giant: Hit speed decreased to 1.5 sec (from 1.7 sec).
  • Witch: Initial spawn decreased to 1 sec (from 3.5 sec).
  • Bats: First attack speed decreased to 0.6 sec (from 0.8 sec).
  • Barbarian Hut: Hitpoints -22%.
  • Graveyard: Initial Spawn increased to 2.2 sec (from 2.0 sec).
  • Heal Spirit: Damage -69%.
  • Fisherman: Hitpoints -10%.
  • Electro Wizard: Damage -2.5%
  • Skeleton Barrel: Hitpoints -19%

Clan Wars Improvement Update (18/11/20)

Clan War Changes

  • The reset time of War Decks no longer corresponds to the player's local time zone. All War Decks now refresh at 10AM UTC.
  • The matchmaking between Clans in Clan Wars has been updated to account for overall player skill and activity.
  • Legendary II (beginning at 4000 Clan Trophies) and Legendary III (beginning at 5000 Clan Trophies) have been added as further divisions of the Legendary League, with rewards scaling accordingly.
  • The amount of unique participants who can play in a Clan War has been set to 50. Clans also now require a minimum of 10 eligible players to be able to participate in Clan Wars; however, dropping below 10 eligible players will not remove the Clan in the middle of a War.
  • In the final week's River Race, after completing the half-length River Race, regular Duels can no longer be played. The Colosseum has a new visual indicator directing players to Duel there.
  • In the last 3 days of a River Race, all Fame and Repair Points earned will be doubled.
  • A new game mode will rotate in each week, in addition to Duels and Battles.

Interface Changes

  • The Supercell ID menu can now be accessed directly from the drop-down menu on the home screen.
  • If the player has multiple Supercell ID accounts saved on their device, a new button beside the Supercell ID button will appear, allowing them to quickly switch between them.
  • Adding someone as a friend in one Supercell game will automatically add them as friends in other Supercell games, as long as both players are linked to Supercell ID.
  • It is now possible to view what a friend is playing from the Supercell ID friend list and join them directly.
  • A QR code containing a friend link can now be generated and scanned, allowing players to add each other more easily.

Clan Wars II

An overhaul to the Clan Wars feature was added, and now involves clans performing tasks to sail down to the end of a river. Reaching the end faster than other Clans rewards a bigger prize. The Chest can be claimed immediately upon finishing. The King's threshold to participate in Clan Wars was also lowered, allowing players with a Level 6 King's Tower to participate

Free Gifts

Quests and the free gifts alongside it were removed in order to streamline the rewarding of daily gifts. Now, a free gift is always be available in the Shop daily. This gift rewards slightly more than if the player collected all 3 of their free gifts previously.

Other Changes

  • Card info screens for the Battle Healer, Earthquake, Heal Spirit, and Royal Delivery were updated.
  • Cloned units can no longer be healed.
  • 4-year and 5-year player profile badges were added.
  • The Social tab was renamed to Clan.

November Update (27/11/19)

Game Rule Changes

All matches can now only go up to five minutes long instead of six. In regular matches, Overtime lasts last for two minutes instead of three, and the final minute has Elixir generate at triple the rate instead of double.

  • Double and Triple Elixir game modes have a simple one-minute reduction on match length.
  • The Sudden Death game mode now lasts five minutes instead of three. The first two minutes have double Elixir generation while the last three minutes have tripled Elixir generation.
  • The Ramp Up game mode increases the Elixir generation multiplier every minute. At the first minute, it is normal, and at the second, it is doubled, going all the way to having quintupled Elixir generation in the final minute of the game.
  • Spawning modes such as Wall Breakers Rush have normal Elixir generation in the first minute, the next two minutes with doubled Elixir generation, and the last two minutes with tripled Elixir generation.

Card Info Screens

The card info screens have received a makeover. Tapping the card's "Info" or "Upgrade" button reveals a new pop-up, showing the card's name, a unique vector graphic, level, rarity, card type, amount of cards obtained, and if the card is able to be upgraded, its experience gain and upgrade cost. It features an interactive display with three pages. The first page shows a short video of the card in action, displaying what the card is strong against and weak against. The second page has the card's stats. The final page has the card's description.

  • Over time, the card stats will be updated with more in-depth information, such as an area damage radius.
  • Cards without a unique vector graphic will receive one over time.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • Hog Rider, Royal Hogs, Ram Rider, and the Freeze spell are no longer selectable in the deck builder for Mega Touchdown.
  • In 2v2 Touchdown Draft, each player is now guaranteed to receive one 'fast runner' (such as Hog Rider) and one 'big runner' (such as Giant).
  • Trophy Road has been updated so that Royal Hogs, Heal, and Elixir Golem can now be received from the reward nodes from the arena they are unlocked in.

Bug Fixes

  • Victory Gold rewards are now consistent with the player's current Arena.
  • Death Damage, such as from the Balloon's bomb, are no longer be able to damage Towers during a tiebreaker.
  • Text localization for card info screens has been updated.
  • The information card for Triple Draft has been updated.
  • Fixed a bug where the player would receive a permanent in-game notification after unlocking a Tower skin.
  • Some UI layer sizing issues were fixed.
  • Several crashing issues were fixed.
  • An infamous oversight where a card could be incorrectly selected and play in place of another card has been fixed.
  • Cards are now dealt to the player's hand faster and respond faster.
    • This is dependent on how fast Elixir is being generated.

  • Mirrored versions of cards have a Mirror effect on deploy to make it clear when a card has been Mirrored.
  • A beta version of the Supercell Creator program has been added, where players can input a code that gives a small portion of the money to a creator whenever the player makes a purchase using real money.

  • Paid Pass Royale tiers have been shuffled around slightly.
  • New Paid Pass Royale feature - Bonus Bank. After reaching Tier 35, every 10 extra crowns earned will be converted into 250 Gold and stored in the Bonus Bank, which can hold up to 10000 Gold. Once the next season arrived, the Gold will be claimable.
  • New Pass Royale Clan Gift - Whenever a player in a clan buys Pass Royale, the pop-up in the clan chat will also include a small Gold gift (amount varies based on player level, up to 500 Gold per gift) claimable by any player, once each. A player can only claim up to 10 of these per season. If a player joins a clan after a member has bought Pass Royale, the joiner will be unable to collect the Gold gift.
  • Added New Tower Skin - Jack-O'-Lantern Pumpkin.
  • Added New Exclusive Day of the Dead Skeleton Emote, based on Poco from Brawl Stars. Several normal emotes based on Goblins, Night Witch, Witch, and Elixir Golem are available to obtain.

  • Witch (REWORK): Hitpoints -12%, damage +220%, hit speed +0.4 sec (1 sec -> 1.4 sec), area damage radius -45%, Skeleton spawn speed +2 secs (5 secs -> 7 secs), now spawns 4 Skeletons in a radius around herself, no longer spawns Skeletons upon death.
  • Night Witch: Bats spawned upon death increased to 4 from 2.
  • Wall Breakers: Elixir cost reduced to 2 from 3, damage -10%, mass +100%.
  • Fisherman: Hitpoints -5%, Damage -6%.

End of September Update (30/9/19)

New "Party!" Button

  • The 2v2 button has been moved inside the Party Button's menu. The Party button functions as a hub for several casual modes where players can earn crowns, victory gold, and chests, without the risk of losing trophies, just like how 2v2 works. Aside from the 2v2 mode, the playable special modes will rotate between each other every 48 hours.
  • The matchmaking algorithm for modes in the Party Button is different than regular ladder, factoring in both card levels and King Tower levels.

Triple Draft

A variation of the existing draft mode has been introduced in Friendly Battles. Instead of picking one card out of two and giving the other to the opponent four times, the player will pick one out of three cards eight times, with the other two cards being discarded. The player will also be able to see what three cards their opponent can pick from, and vice versa. However, neither player can know for certain what card their opponent picked out of the three cards.

Supercell ID Emote

A new emote is available, exclusive to players who have their account connected to Supercell ID. The emote is the chicken from one of Supercell's other mobile games, Hay Day, clucking.


A tiebreaker system has been introduced in all modes outside of 1v1 Ladder when a match has ran out of time in Overtime. At the end of the match, all the towers of each player will rapidly lose health until one is destroyed before the other, making draws extremely rare.

Crown Rush

Similar to Gold Rush, Crown Rush is a limited-time event in which players can earn double the crowns from 1v1 Ladder. The amount gained varies based on Arena and League, but can go up to a possible 30 extra obtainable crowns.

Quality of Life Changes

  • Inactive Clan Leaders will now have their Leader role to the longest serving Co-leader. This will happen after 35 days of inactivity (warning messages will be sent 14 days and 3 days before they are rotated). If there is no Co-leader, the Leader role will be given to the longest serving Elder.
  • Emote Deck' renamed to 'Personalize'.
  • Improved support help from the Sparky game support bot.
  • Improved player support tools.
  • Third-party tournament organizers can now access replays via deeplinks.
  • Shop UI has been tweaked.
  • The Settings menu has been revamped.
  • Pass Royale screen has received some touching up.
  • Clash Royale no longer supports Android devices with an x86 processor.

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed display issue with the Tournament tab in the Activity log where the tab would flash repeatedly if the player was underneath King Level 5.
  • Fixed replay controls not being available in certain replays.
  • Fixed a rare crash issue when canceling 2v2 matchmaking.

Introducing… Trophy Road!

  • A brand new way to progress in Clash Royale 1v1 Ladder Battles!
  • Collect rewards as you earn Trophies and progress through the Arenas!
  • The higher your Trophies, the better the rewards! Earn Gems, Gold, Chests, stacks of cards (of different rarities), Trade Tokens AND Emotes on the Trophy Road!
  • Protect your Trophies! Reaching a new Arena activates a Trophy Gate! This means you can’t drop below the Trophies needed for that Arena, or drop to a lower Arena! Once you hit 4000 Trophies, you will not drop below Legendary Arena’s Trophy Gate of 4000, but you can drop through League rankings.
  • Activate Chest Speed Up Boosts for 24 hours when reaching a new Arena - unlock those new Arena Chests faster!
  • Set your goals! See your Trophy Progress and what you need to do to get that next reward.
  • New rewards every Season! At the end of each League Season, alongside the Trophy reset, you will also reset your Trophy Road progress from 4000+. This means that each Season you will be able to earn new rewards throughout! Because of this, we are removing the League Chest, allowing you to instead earn rewards as you progress through a Season.
  • Royal Champion League lands in at 6600 Trophies, with Ultimate Champion League now starting at 7000+ trophies!
  • View your friends' progress! Enjoy some healthy competition with your friends & Clan members - view their progress on the Trophy Road!

New Card!

  • Earthquake is a Rare Spell that Deals full Damage per second to Crown Towers and 400% Damage to all other buildings. It damages and slows ground Troops, but does not affect flying units.
  • Goblin Cage is a Rare Building that would be added over time.

New Game Modes!

Mega Deck

  • Increased Elixir generation
  • Increased Deck size (8 Cards -> 18 Cards - that’s how Mega works)
  • Develop new strategies and ways to defeat your opponent!

Elixir Capture

  • Use Elixir from the Arena to defeat your opponent!
  • Elixir spawns on both bridges, and must be collected by Troops!
  • An Elixir Storage in the middle of the Arena gives 2 Elixir when destroyed.
  • The Elixir Storage has two health bars. Whichever side to deplete their own health bar first get the Elixir.
  • Use this extra Elixir to gain an advantage over your opponent!

Dragon Hunt

  • Players hunt an Elixir Egg with two health bars and the first to destroy their own health bar spawns a Dragon for their side!
  • When the Elixir Egg is destroyed, another one spawns after 30 seconds
  • The spawned Dragon can be either Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, or Electro Dragon!

1v1 Arena Battles Improvements

    • Where possible, match cards thematically to their Arena.
