The Retro Royale was a temporary game mode unlocked at Arena 8. It was a feature in Clash Royale that allows players to compete against each other in a ranked format with a limited card roster. Battles were following standard 1v1 rules, however the card roster was limited to the first 80 cards released in the game, with Tower Princess being the only other card available that was released after that point. In addition, all evolutions were disabled. There are two Arenas, the Casual League and the Competitive League. In the Casual League, the Retro Royale Trophies would be permanent when obtained, and would not deduct if the players lost a match, while in Competitive League, they would deduct with a loss. Advancing to the Competitive League would award the player with a Chest boost, which halves the time to open every Chest achieved during the boost. The Chest boost lasts for 24 hours.
