“Creates a Shield that deflects damage onto the offender and heals Monk for a few seconds every few hits”
The Monk is a card that belongs in the
Ace and
Superstar traits. It spawns a single-target melee troop with very high hitpoints, very low damage, and very high attack speed. Every few hits, the Monk will create a shield that reflects any sort of incoming damage and also heals him every second. The Monk takes the appearance of a Hog Rider, except that he is tan and his mohawk, beard and eyebrows are white, he has a long horseshoe mustache, and wears a mala on his wrists, a cincture, and a red kilt. A Monk card costs 5
to deploy.
Strategy[]
- Although he costs 5 Elixir, the Monk is a great investment, especially if the player managed their Golden Elixir supply well, because he has a notable amount of hitpoints, as well as a very high attack speed, permitting him to be pretty valuable.
- Upgrading the Monk's merge level is important, as he'll reuire less hits to cast his shield. The deflection shield is what makes the Monk powerful, as it deflects 100% of damage taken, reduces damage taken by 90%, and heals him by a notable amount of hitpoints.
- Troops with a high attack speed, like Goblin, Barbarian, Dart Goblin, Royal Ghost, and Goblin Machine, will take reflected damage very quickly, rapidly depleting their hitpoints. This can also effectively work against
Brutalist set-ups,
Clan set-ups,
Ranger set-ups, and X-Bow. - Troops with a high damage output, like Mini P.E.K.K.A., P.E.K.K.A., Spear Goblin, and Skeleton King, will get a notable amount of their hitpoints reduced when the Monk deflects the troop's damage. This can also effectively work against
Blaster set-ups.
P.E.K.K.A set-ups, and X-Bow. - One should note that
Brutalist's hitpoints reduction after 4 marks will not be deflected, given that it technically doesn't come from any source. For the same reason,
Undead's hitpoints reduction also won't be deflected.
- Troops with a high attack speed, like Goblin, Barbarian, Dart Goblin, Royal Ghost, and Goblin Machine, will take reflected damage very quickly, rapidly depleting their hitpoints. This can also effectively work against
- Activating the Monk's
Ace Category:Cards by Trait makes him attack faster, needing less time to cast his shield. If he's the captain,
Ace will only affect his normal damage, as reflected damage isn't buffed nor does it count for his heal. - Activating his
Superstar trait allows him to have a portion of his ability already charged. It also allows him to chain multiple ability activations after casting one time, making him heal and deflect damage more often.
