“Flying, armored and powerful. What could be its weakness?! Cupcakes.”
The Mega Minion is a Rare card that is unlocked from the Barbarian Bowl (Arena 3). It spawns a single-target, air-targeting, melee, air troop with moderate hitpoints and high damage. It appears as an enlarged Minion wearing a set of armor with a mask. A Mega Minion card costs 3 Elixir to deploy.

- Unlike the Mini P.E.K.K.A., the Mega Minion is vulnerable on offense alone if you were to counterpush after trading some. The Mega Minion, however, excels at defense and should be mostly used as a defensive card as it has a high damage output but is slower than Minions. However, it is often used on the offensive as a support card, being able to clear out low-medium hitpoint units and deal significant damage to everything else.
- Its high damage to moderate hitpoints allow it to be able to defend relatively well against many ground-based pushes. Its defensive value is even greater since it is much more resistant to spells, unlike the Minion Horde and Minions. However, it can't deal with swarms very effectively due to its slow hit speed.
- Also, unlike the Minions, it can counter area damage units such as the Witch, Wizard, Baby Dragon and Executioner without being destroyed. However, it doesn't fare so well against Inferno Dragon due to the damage ramp up and the Mega Minion's relatively low health.
- Against ranged troops that can target air troops like the Musketeer, place the Mega Minion on top of them, to negate their range advantage and defeat them. This will save more of its hitpoints in case the player wants to use a tank in front of it for a counterattack.
- If ignored, the Mega Minion will be able to reach the Crown Tower and attack once if the player is using the Tower Princess or Cannoneer, dealing a fair amount of chip damage. However, a Zap or a Giant Snowball will allow the Crown Tower to defeat it for a positive Elixir trade. If the player is using the Dagger Duchess, they will kill it quick enough, causing it to get no damage on the Crown Tower.
- The Mega Minion is a very effective counter against the Balloon for a cheap cost. Its moderate hitpoints allow it to survive spells from Zap to Poison while its damage allows it to quickly deal with the Balloon itself. Place the Mega Minion on the Balloon's path to further lower its chances of connecting to the Tower.
- The Mega Minion pairs well with the Lava Hound since it deals with any moderate-health defending units trying to destroy the Lava Hound while the Lava Hound tanks most of the incoming damage. When the Lava Hound bursts, the Mega Minion's moderate health will allow it to tank Crown Tower hits while the Lava Pups deal massive damage to the Tower. Naturally, the Mega Minion also fits in very well with the Double Dragon strategy, as its high damage allows it to quickly deal with major threats such as a Musketeer or Wizard, something that the Baby Dragon and Inferno Dragon both fail at.
- On the other hand, it is a great counter to an opposing Lava Hound. Its high damage will quickly defeat the Lava Hound itself, and it is also high enough to OHKO each Lava Pup.
- Cheap air-targeting troops like the Archers and Spear Goblins are great counters to the Mega Minion. Place them far enough from it to ensure that none of the troops are OHKOed by the Mega Minion, to ensure a more potent counterattack.
- If placed optimally, any troop, even Skeletons, can distract the Mega Minion long enough for any tower troop to defeat it. Any spawner building can also work in a similar way.
- The Mega Minion pairs well with the Miner. The Mega Minion can be utilized defensively first and then after going for a counterattack, the Miner can be deployed to distract the Crown Tower. However, the Mega Minion is notably slower than other similar troops, so try to place the Miner further back to prevent the opponent's defending troops to distract the Mega Minion when it arrives.
- To defend against a Minion Horde, the player can place this card in the middle of the Arena so that the Minion Horde will be pulled to the center, increasing the length of their way to the Crown Tower and distracting them. The Mega Minion will take out 2 or 3 Minions while your Crown Tower continually attacks. However, it is likely that you will still suffer some damage so it is best to use splash damage troops or spells.
- When placed and timed correctly, a Mega Minion combined with Skeletons can fully counter a Little Prince and Guardienne for a +2 Elixir trade. Likewise, this duo works against most ground troops.
- If the player can predict a Princess placed at the bridge, they can place the Mega Minion to counter her for a neutral Elixir trade. This tactic also works against a Princess walking towards the bridge, and is more effective compared to other cheap cards due to the Mega Minion's higher hitpoints.
- The Void is the only spell effective against a Mega Minion. It will be able to destroy it in just 2 hits for a neutral Elixir trade. The player can deploy any troop inside the Void's radius to allow the Mega Minion to completely survive the spell.
- Phoenix can be used as a replacement for the Mega Minion. It offers higher hitpoints, a faster attack speed, some additional death damage, the ability to respawn after being defeated, and is resistant to the Monk's ability. In exchange, the Mega Minion is cheaper by 1 Elixir, and has significantly higher damage.

Trivia[]
- The design of the Mega Minion resembles gargoyles. The gargoyle is a fantasy and horror monster inspired by the gargoyle architectural element. While they were believed in mythology to frighten away evil spirits, the idea of such statues physically coming to life is a more recent notion. They are usually made of magically animated or transformed stone, but have animal or chimera traits and are often guardians of a place such as a cathedral or castle. They can also be depicted as vessels for demonic possession or as a living species resembling statues.
- In the French and Japanese language settings of the game, the Mega Minion's name translates to "Mega Gargoyle". In the Arabic, Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, and Vietnamese language settings of the game, the Mega Minion's name translates to "Giant Minion", "Armored Undead", "Big Minion", "Armored Drone", and "Super Minion" respectively.
