“A rolling snowball gathers no Troops...unless it's Evolved! Evolved Giant Snowball gathers enemy Troops and rolls forward before breaking, which frees and slows the Troops down.”
The Giant Snowball's Evolution is a Common card that is unlocked with 6 Evolution Shards. It is a Giant Snowball with identical stats to the original. Once the initial hit is unleashed, the affected troops get pulled into it and the Giant Snowball rolls on the ground for 4.5 tiles similarly to the Barbarian Barrel. When it finishes its roll, the troops are freed. The Giant Snowball's Evolution costs 2 Elixir and requires 2 cycles to deploy.
Strategy[]
- Troops inside the Snowball cannot be targeted, making this card great to make your cards re-focus. That's specially good with cards such as X-Bow, allowing them to easily re-target onto a Crown Tower.
- The Snowball aligns the troops it rolls with in a perfect way for them to get a lot of damage dealt by cards such as Magic Archer, Evolved Bomber, Firecracker, Executioner, Wizard, or Bowler.
- If you misplaced a structure to counter the opponent's Structure-Targeting Troop, you can put the Snowball to the side (left or right) of that troop, getting it closer to the structure once it has stopped rolling, and thus, making the troop focus on it.
- This advantage can also be used offensively. If the opponent places a card in the middle to counter cards you placed, you can use the Snowball to the side of that troop while they're at the middle to redirect it to the other side and make it stop attacking your troops.
- The Snowball can have great synergy with Sparky if used right. The Snowball can get opponent troops closer to a Crown Tower, allowing the Sparky to hit both the troops and the Crown Tower, while also giving the Sparky more time to reload again thanks to the Snowball's slowdown effect.
- With good placement and the assistance of a Tower Princess or Cannoneer, the Snowball can fully counter a Balloon for a 3+ positive elixir trade.
- The Snowball can be used to get a Giant Skeleton away from your Crown Tower, that way avoiding the massive death damage his bomb could've dealt to it.
- If the opponent places an Evolved Valkyrie close to your tank while on the river, you can use the Snowball to get the Evolved Valkyrie closer to the opponent's Crown Tower, making your tank reach the Crown Tower faster and nullifying the counter the Evolved Valkyrie would've otherwise made.
- Unlike the regular Snowball, the Evolved Snowball can't counter a Princess by making her closer to your own Crown Tower.
- Unlike the regular Snowball, the Evolved Snowball can also stop the charge of heavy troops, such as Prince or Dark Prince.
- Since the regular Snowball already has a good synergy with Graveyard, the Evolved Snowball only adds to it, by letting troops the opponent adds to counter Graveyard get sent further from it.
- The troops inside the Snowball keep their collision while they're rolling inside it, meaning they can push the opponent's troops. This can be very useful in an instance where the opponent deployed a tanky troop behind your card, since you can throw the Snowball at it and push your own card that way. It's specially useful to reach the opponent's Crown Tower.
- The Snowball can hit both the bush from the Suspicious Bush and the Goblins inside it for an equal elixir trade. The damage won't be enough to fully counter the Goblins, homever, they're left with only 2 thirds of their HP, making it pretty easy to counter them with assistance of the Crown Towers or most other cards.
- If the Monk reflects an Evolved Snowball, it won't repeat the travel on-air, it will just reflect the part where it's on the ground. This can be useful in some niche situations.
- The Snowball has a good synergy with the Evolved Electro Dragon. Once the troops caught by the Snowball stop rolling, they will all get grouped together, allowing the Evolved Electro Dragon's infinite bolts to constantly hit them until they all get destroyed easily.
- The Evolved Snowball can be used to protect your Goblin Drill from getting countered by opponent troops put close to it by rolling them further from it and giving them slowdown for some seconds, allowing the Goblin Drill to deal massive damage to the Crown Tower.
- This strategy is often less effective with the Evolved Goblin Drill, as it will move closer to the pushed card as it gets damaged.
- If you manage to get the Evolved Lumberjack's Ghost close to the opponent's Crown Tower, you can use the Evolved Snowball to push away any troops the opponent uses to try to distract the Lumberjack's Ghost, making it so that the Lumberjack's Ghost locks onto the tower and gets some damage assured.
- The Evolved Snowball can be used along Bandit, Boss Bandit, or Golden Knight so that enemy troops roll enough tiles to get the Bandit/Boss Bandit/Golden Knight to dash at one of them, dealing extra damage and probably tanking some hits mid-dash.
