Card Roles[]
- Lava Hound: The Lava Hound is the tank for the win condition (balloon) and support cards (minions, inferno drag, miner, and guards).
- Balloon: The balloon is your win condition. This is the card that will do most of the damage to your opponents crown towers.
- Miner: Use the Miner to take out the opponents defending cards such as musketeer, or wizard.
- Inferno Dragon: The Inferno Dragon is mostly used defensively in this deck but can also put some decent offensive pressure on your opponent.
- Minions: Minions act as a defensive card and also a bait card for arrows, zap or tornado.
- Guards: The Guards are also another defensive card since they can not be logged. They also serve as spell bait.
- Arrows: Arrows support the offensive lavaloon push by taking out swarm cards such as minion horde or minions.
- Zap: Used to counter inferno tower and is also used to take out weaker cards such as spear goblins
Strategy[]
- The main push of this deck is, you guessed it! Lava Hound and Balloon.
- To set up this push, place lava hound in the back (I will talk about placements later) and place a balloon behind the lava hound when it is just about to cross the bridge.
- Lava hound placements: The hound placement on the bottom left or right of a crown tower is one of the most common placements. In double elixir, you can use the same placement but slightly higher and next to the crown tower. This is better in double elixir because you get elixir faster, and because the hound is a slow moving troop.
- Supporting the LavaLoon: The cards that are most oftenly used to support the lavaloon is the miner, and the two spells (arrows or zap). Use the miner to take out troops such as the wizard, muskeeteer, executioner, princess, or witch. You may also need to use arrows or zap to finish them off. Use zap to temporarily stun inferno tower or dragon. Use arrows to take out swarm cards such as minion horde, minions, goblin gang, and princess.
- Defense: This deck is both highly offensive AND defensive. The inferno drag is your best tank killer. Since it can be zapped easily, use you bait cards (minions, and guards), to bait out the zap beforehand. additionally, both of minions and guards are useful defensive cards because minions are an air troop, and guards cannot be logged.
- Playstyle: This may sound crazy, but the best way to play not only this lavaloon deck, but ANY lavaloon deck is to, TANK DAMAGE. Its ok if you let a couple of cards get some chip damage on your princess towers. The whole point of lavaloon is to build an elixir advantage for yourself.
- Tower trades are often common when playing lavaloon. Just make sure they dont three crown you!
- Matchups: The most difficult matchup is probably golem, or those random decks that have insanely many air counters.
- golem is a hard matchup because it has a similar playstyle to lavaloon. They both have to tank damage and build a stronger push in another lane. However, YOU CANNOT BEAT GOLEM IN OPPOSITE LANE. When playing against golem, it is essential to make sure that your inferno drag stays alive. Use whatever you can to bait the lightning and other spells.
- One of the seemingly difficult matchups is x-bow. However, it is actually fairly easy to play against x-bow. The simple strategy is to TOWER TRADE. Let the x bow lock onto your tower and take it out. You just have to push the other lane. The only real air defense in x bow decks are the tesla, ice spirit, and archers. Use arrows to wipe out the archers and do some damage to the tesla. This will almost gaurantee damage to the opponents princess towers. It is very, very hard to play x bow with only one princess tower and you will almost win every time against x bow.
