Introduction
Hey, it's imcrazy, bringing you a strange but very effective twist on the classic Loon Cycle. I've used this deck for a bit now and it's probably my favorite, it's really fun to play and can take you surprisingly far.
Deck Information[]
- Deck Created by: imcrazy38
- Minimum Recommended King Level: 8
- Maximum Recommended King Level: 13
- Arena Required: Serenity Peak (Wrong?)
- Average Elixir Cost: 3.1 (Wrong?)
- More Statistics: Go to Deck Builder
Card Roles[]
- Tower Troop:
- Balloon: A solid win condition that speaks for itself. Don't let it go alone, play it with Lumberjack or back it with your Snowball. Additionally, probably the best punisher in the game.
- Goblin Cage: The center of your defensive strategy. It is spell-proof and the Brawler is ridiculously strong. Your opponent will regret every tank they play.
- Lumberjack: Powerful in a defensive situation, and of course the fantastic synergy with Balloon. Generally, you'll save it until a LumberLoon push.
- Musketeer: Goes hand in hand with your Cage as a fantastic defender. Its recent nerf changes nothing.
- Bats: The cycle card tank killer of your dreams. Mega Knight, P.E.K.K.A., and Valk will be gone in seconds for 2 elixir.
- Ice Golem: VALUE in all caps. Use it to kite, kill swarms, distract, and tank, don't just play it at the bridge. Or, if you really have nothing to do, I guess you can play it at the bridge.
- Barbarian Barrel: Swarm killer and tough defensive card.
- Giant Snowball: Another swarm killer, and the slowdown-knockback is gorgeous.
Strategy[]
- Remember, this may be a cycle deck, but it's not unusually fast. Don't waste Elixir.
- Your basic playstyle is simple and smooth. Defend with Musketeer and Cage. Attack with Lumberjack and Loon. Cycle through cards and try to get value out of your 2-Elixir cards.
- With such a fast offensive cycle, towers should be down if not severely damaged by 2 Elixir time. There is no reason to go all-out on offense at 2 Elixir. Your playstyle remains essentially the same. If your opponent has a deck that thrives particularly in double Elixir, like Golem or PEKKA beatdown, you may want to go even more defensive.
- Keep in mind your opponent's cycle. Is their Minion Horde or their Tesla out of hand? Is a Sparky-based push coming around the corner? Paying attention to this will make you unbeatable.
- GOBLIN CAGE IS THE KEY. If you remember no other tips from the Strategy page, remember this: Goblin Cage is the center of your defense. Play it all day, every day.
- Here are some common deck archetypes you may find out there.
Common Deck Archetypes[]
Golem Beatdown[]
If you groaned and vomited into your bowl of Froot Loops as you read "Golem Beatdown", I have respect for you. This deck is really toxic, and it is kind of annoying to play against, since your Bats (one of your strongest defensive tools) are rendered near useless by the death damage. One good thing about it is that as soon as they play Golem, you can shred a tower with Balloon. They'll be low on Elixir and you're near guaranteed to get multiple hits. Defense is harder, but you'll still be using Goblin Cage. Barbarian Barrel and Giant Snowball are very useful for taking care of the troops behind Golem.
Hog Cycle[]
The Hog Cycle is super light and that's what this deck works best against. Goblin Cage (Bats, too) is a hard counter to Hog and Cannon won't help them against LumberLoon. An easy win.
PEKKA Beatdown[]
Kite the PEKKA with Ice Golem or use Bats. The Battle Ram is negated by the Cage, so once you can get a big enough push this matchup shouldn't be too hard.
2.9 Bow[]
Ooh, this is rough. Your best hope against an X-Bow is probably Ice Golem-Bats, but the opponent's cycle is faster than yours, so they can bring out X-Bow again and again. Balloon is a pretty poor choice to counter the Bow, but it will work. With a much faster cycle and two buildings(X-Bow and Tesla), your Balloon's chance of connecting multiple times is quite low. Be on your best defensive game.
LavaLoon[]
You'll be using your Musketeer and your Bats a ton to stop their pushes, instead of Goblin Cage (It won't bring you as much value against LavaLoon). They'll probably have I-Drag so make sure you tank LumberLoon with your Ice Golem. This won't be very difficult if you play your defense correctly.
Skeleton Barrel[]
Skelly Barrel has exploded in popularity recently due to its synergies with Ice Wiz and, more commonly, Clone. Time BarBarrel right and they will rarely get value from their own Barrel. It's funny how one of the barrels is a direct counter to the other two.
Giant Skeleton[]
Kite with Ice Golem. If it's Cloned, take out the Clone first with a Snowball.
Any Other Giants[]
Goblin Cage and some cycle cards. Basic defensive strategy. Come on.
Princes, MKs, and Sparkies[]
These high-damage ground-target units can all be shut down pretty easily by a simple Ice Golem-Bats combo. In a pinch, any of your 4-Elixir cards will finish them off.
Any Problems?[]
If things are getting really bad and that Giant is about to connect, knock it back and freeze it with Giant Snowball. In this scenario, Giant Snowball will give you more value than anything else.
Conclusion[]
My favorite deck, and I think a pretty good one. I've used it for a while, it's taken me to Challenger II so far, but I'm pretty sure its potential extends beyond that. Me and my deck will see you out there!
Substitutions[]
Balloon: Skeleton Barrel, maybe. Giants would also work, but not using Balloon is just rude to the deck's potential.
Lumberjack: Miner, Rage and Clone all work to fill this card's role.
Musketeer: I would consider Magic Archer or Executioner. But Musketeer is basically irreplaceable in most meta decks.
Goblin Cage: All defensive buildings work nearly as well.
2-Elixir cards: Literally any card costing 2 Elixir or under, feel free to use.
