Superstar is a secondary trait in Merge Tactics. When multiple
Superstar troops are on the field, their ability bar is partially filled and they can recast their ability.
Effects[]
“Combat Start: Superstars' ability bar is partially filled. 50% chance to recast after casting their ability”
Superstar troops already have a portion of their ability bar filled, allowing them to take less hits/time to activate their ability. They also have a 50% chance of using their ability again after the first ability is casted, with a limit of 4 ability re-cast.
“[2] 1/3”
When 2
Superstar troops are on the field, their ability is filled by 33%.
“[4] 2/3”
When 4
Superstar troops are on the field, their ability is filled by 67%.
Strategy[]
Superstar is a great trait for crowd control, given that it makes using abilities quicker, as well as having a 50% chance of its troops recasting their abilities, meaning that they have a very high chance of continuously using their abilities up to the limit of 4 re0casts.- Electro Giant, Witch and Monk benefit the most from
Superstar. Electro Giant's electric field radius increases with each re-cast, allowing him to stun and damage units further away, while Witch spawn a lot of Skeletons to distract and swarm single-targeting units, especially Inferno Tower and X-Bow, and Monk will repeatedly conjure his shield to reflect damage and heal. Musketeer is also a good choice because she'll stun a variable number of enemy troops for long enough so that the player's team can defeat the enemy troops. - To counter
Superstar, the player should use
Assassin troops to defeat Musketeers and Witches, or use ranged splash units like Wizard, Mortar, Executioner, and Princess to clear out the Witch and ger Skeletons, with Mortar and Princess also being able to directly target her with proper positioning. As for Electro Giant and Monk, high damage per hit troops, like Mini P.E.K.K.A. and P.E.K.K.A., and hitpoint-reducing effects, like
Brutalist and
Undead, will make defeating those troops quickly more likely, avoiding them from gaining too much value by both their abilities and their capacity to protect Musketeer and Witch. - The
Superstar trait can also be combined with other traits to give the player a bigger advantage:
- With Musketeer's
Noble trait, she will deal more damage (because she's supposed to be placed in the backline), allowing her to defeat enemies quicker. By chaining multiple ability usages, she'll be able to deal extra damage to 3 enemies repeatedly on top of stunning them. - With Electro Giant's
Giant trait, he and Royal Giant will take reduced damage, allowing for increased survivability. For Electro Giant, this means that he'll have more time to activate his ability and tank for other troops. - With Witch's
Undead trait, she and other
Undead troops will curse 3 enemies and decrease their hitpoints, while causing them to deal more damage when they defeat a cursed unit.
- With Musketeer's
- With Monk's
Ace trait, he and other
Ace troops will get an attack speed boost, allowing him to activate his ability earlier to cause more trouble with his damage reflection shield. If he's given the captain role, he'll also deal more damage with both his normal attacks and his reflected damage, as well as healing with every hit he inflicts, making him extra durable.
History[]
2025
- The
Superstar trait was added to the game in a Seasonal Update on 24/11/2025, with 4 troops available, those being Musketeer, Electro Giant, Witch, and Monk. - On 26/11/2025, a maintenance break fixed a bug where
Superstar would visually increase Electro Giant's Electric Field Radius, but not effectively. - On 1/12/2025, a December 2025 Update added a Max Ability Re-Cast for
Superstar.
Trivia[]
- The word "Superstar" comes from the prefix "super-", meaning "above, beyond, or over", combined with the word "star", which in this case, describes a person's outstanding talent. This refers to the fact that
Superstar troops have a portion of their ability bar filled and can recast their abilities multiple times.
