Mage is a secondary trait in Merge Tactics. When multiple
Mage troops are on the field, the strongest troop is turned into a rabbit that does not move, attack, or activate any abilities for a certain amount of time.
Effects[]
“Combat Start: Strongest enemy troop is turned into a harmless rabbit for some time”
At the start of each match, the strongest troop becomes a stationary rabbit that does not attack or activate abilities.
“[2] 6s”
When 2
Mage troops are on the field, the time the affected troop stays as a bunny is 6 seconds.
Strategy[]
- The
Mage trait is very useful if the player is about to face an opponent using a dangerous and high merge level troop, like Baby Dragon, Mega Knight, Bandit, Goblin Machine, Golden Knight, or Archer Queen, as the bunny can "deactivate" said troop for 6 seconds, which can be enough time for making the player win against the opponent. - It is important to note that the priority for the bunny effect is merge level, followed by Elixir cost, and followed by whichever troop was first placed. As such, a Bandit played before a Mega Knight with the same merge level will get affected by
Mage instead of him.
Mage is completely negated by
Juggernaut, as it makes the troop that would be affected by it immune to becoming a rabbit. It will be fully wasted if all troops are shielded, because not a single troop would be able to be turned into a rabbit.- The
Mage trait can also be combined with other traits to give the player a bigger advantage:
- With Wizard's
Fire trait, his damage will increase whenever he defeats a troop, which isn't hard to achieve, given his high attack speed. - With Electro Wizard's
Electric trait, every troop will take extra damage from the lightning strikes. If Electro Wizard stuns at the right time, then the lighnting strikes will happen thrice. One should note that
Mage's bunny effect does not work to make troops get struck 3 times, nor it lasts for enough time.
- With Wizard's
History[]
2025
- The
Mage trait was added to the game on 29/9/2025, in the 2025 Quarter 3 Update, with 2 cards available, those being Wizard and Electro Wizard. On the same day, a Balance Update decreased the
Mage Troop Bunny Duration to 6 seconds (from 7 seconds).
Trivia[]
- The word "mage" comes from the latin word "magus", meaning "magician" or "learned magician", and from the greek word "magos", a word used for the Persian learned and priestly class as portrayed in the Bible.
