Fire is a primary trait in Merge Tactics. When multiple Fire troops are on the field, Fire troops gain extra damage for every enemy they defeat.

Effects[]

“Fires gain stackable bonus damage upon enemies' defeat”

Every troop defeated by a Fire troop will grant bonus damage to that Fire troop.

“[2] +30%”

When 2 Fire troops are on the field, they get +30% damage per enemy defeated.

Strategy[]

  • The Fire trait is very useful for making its troops, Wizard and Baby Dragon, deadlier, as the damage increase, combined with the former's high attack speed, especially at higher merge levels, and the latter's high damage and large splash radius, make them have high chances of defeating enemies, easilly getting the +30% dmaage buff.
  • As the trait's troops deal splash damage, Fire can also be played to boost those troops' performance on set-ups that focus on clumping up their troops, especially an opponent playing Juggernaut to shield their troops. While this makes them sturdier, Wizard's high attack speed and Baby Dragon's high damage can easily deplete the shield, and the player can also use other high damage cards to quickly deplete the shield.
  • Assassin is a quick way to remove Fire troops from the field before their damage stacks, as the trait's troops jump into the backline, skipping meat-shields in the frontline. The player should separate the troops from each other, so that neither Wizard nor Baby Dragon can benefit from their splash damage traits.
  • The Fire trait can also be combined with other traits to give the player a bigger advantage:
    • With Wizard's Mage trait, the strongest troop will be turned into a bunny, unable to move, deal damage, or activate any abilities for 6 seconds, increasing the player's chances of victory.
    • With Baby Dragon's Blaster trait, he and other Blaster troops will deal extra damage the further away the are from the target. Due to Baby Dragon's large splash radius, he'll be able to benefit a lot from Blaster's damage per distance, allowing him to defeat enemy units quicker for benefitting more from Fire's damage buff.

Trivia[]

  • The word "fire" has West Germanic roots, with a shared origin from Old English ("fȳr", "fȳrian") Dutch ("vuur"), and German ("feuer"), as a combustion or burning effect in both substances and the body.
  • Fire is the only trait with an ally-based effect that stacks.
