Electric is a primary trait in Merge Tactics. When multiple Electric troops are on the field, every enemy troop will get struck by lightning, dealing 20% of their max HP worth of damage. If the troop is stunned, then the lightning will strike that troop 3 times.

Effects[]

“After 10 seconds, lightning strikes all enemies once and stunned troops 3x”

Every 10 seconds, enemy troops will get struck by lightning. They get struck three times if they are struck while stunned.

“[2] Each strike deals 20% damage of max HP”

When 2 Electric troops are on the field, the lightning deals 20% of the targeted troop's max HP worth of damage.

Strategy[]

  • The Electric trait is useful if the player is using a lot of troops with stun-based attacks, like Giant Skeleton, Mega Knight, Bandit, and Goblin Machine, as the stuns are likely to happen close to when Electric's effect activates, causing enemy units to be struck 3 times instead of the usual 1 strike.
  • Given that Electro Giant's electric field lasts for 5 seconds, it is very likely that one of his stuns will happen right when Electric's effect activates, making the enemy's troops get struck by the 3 lightning strikes, further increasing the damage output.
  • Electric is completely negated by Juggernaut, not only because it prevents every shielded troop unable to be stunned, but it also prevents them to get damaged by the lightning strikes in the first place.
  • Troops with high damage or attack speed are able to remove stun-based troops before Electric's effect happens. Such troops include Goblin, Spear Goblin, P.E.K.K.A., Royal Ghost, and Ranger troops under the trait's effect.
  • The Electric trait can also be combined with other traits to give the player a bigger advantage:
    • With Electro Giant's Avenger trait, he and other Avenger troops will deal bonus damage, which will further weaken enemy units. This also allows the last standing Avenger to deal double damage.
    • With Electro Wizard's Mage trait, the strongest troop will be turned into a bunny, unable to move, deal damage, or activate any abilities for 6 seconds, increasing the player's chances of victory. However, Juggernaut's shield will negate both Electric and Mage's effects at the same time, resulting in a waste of Elixir.

Trivia[]

  • The word "Electro" comes from the Greek word "ἤλεκτρον" (elektron), meaning amber, referring to its electrostatic capabilities. Electricity was first detected through electric fish from as far back as 2750 BCE where Ancient Egyptian texts described them as the "protectors" of all other fish. At around 600 BCE, Thales of Miletus made a series of observations on static electricity, from which he believed that friction rendered amber magnetic, in contrast to minerals such as magnetite, which needed no rubbing. Thales was incorrect in believing the attraction was due to a magnetic effect, but later science would prove a link between magnetism and electricity. Electricity would remain little more than an intellectual curiosity for millennia until 1600, when the English scientist William Gilbert wrote De Magnete, in which he made a careful study of electricity and magnetism, distinguishing the lodestone effect from static electricity produced by rubbing amber.
