Brutalist is a secondary trait in Merge Tactics. When multiple Brutalist troops are on the field, they gain an attack speed bonus and mark enemies every hit.

Brutalist troops get a permanent attack speed bonus. They will also mark enemies every hit they make, with 4 marks decreasing some of that unit's hitpoints based on their max hitpoints.

When 2 Brutalist troops are on the field, they get +30% attack speed and cut enemies' hitpoints by 20% of their max hitpoints every 4 marks.

When 4 Brutalist troops are on the field, they get +60% attack speed and cut enemies' hitpoints by 40% of their max hitpoints every 4 marks.
Strategy[]
Brutalist's attack speed boost will allow for the trait's troops to quickly mark enemy units. It also helps improving the cards' performance, mainly due to increasing the frequency of Mini P.E.K.K.A.'s high-damage hits, Valkyrie and Skeleton King's splash radius, and Goblin Machine and Skeleton King's abilities.- Because they deal splash damage, Valkyrie and Skeleton King will be able to help Mini P.E.K.K.A. and Goblin Machine in marking enemies, because they'll mark multiple troops at once. However, Goblin Machine's rockets will not mark enemies, as those are not considered part of his attack.
- The player is recommended to have at least two Brutalist troops (or take advantage of Valkyrie's splash damage), targeting problematic units like Mega Knight, Bandit, another Goblin Machine, and Golden Knight before they're able to cripple their team.
- Because the hitpoints reduction is based on the troop's maximum hitpoints, healthy troops like P.E.K.K.A., Mega Knight, Golden Knight, and Skeleton King will lose more hitpoints than frailer troops like Goblin, Barbarian, and Royal Ghost. Because of this, Brutalist is also a good counter to Giant, being able to bypass the trait's damage reduction every 4 marks.
- Brutalist's hitpoints reduction at 4 marks is very useful against Monk, given that he won't be able to reflect that damage, while the damage value may be enough to nullify his healing.
- The Brutalist trait can also be combined with other traits to give the player a bigger advantage:
- With Mini P.E.K.K.A.'s P.E.K.K.A trait, he and P.E.K.K.A. will get a damage increase and heal with each enemy defeat, which further increases the Mini P.E.K.K.A.'s survivability and threat level, especially with Brutalist's attack speed boost.
- With Valkyrie's Clan trait, she and other Clan troops will gain an attack speed boost and regenerate at 50% hitpoints. Valkyrie will get the attack speed boost from both of her traits, making her far deadlier overall.
- With Goblin Machine's Goblin trait, the player can obtain a lot of Golden Elixir by utilizing the Goblin troops to make more merges. Spirit Empress' Fusion Foresight Ruler Modifier grants the player more Golden Elixir per merge, while Goblin Queen gives the player a 33% chance of getting a Goblin with every enemy defeat.
- With Skeleton King's Undead trait, he and other Undead troops will curse 3 enemies and cut their hitpoints by a certain amount, making them far easier to be defeated. Skeleton King also gets a damage increase if he defeats a cursed troop.
