“A Cannon on wheels?! Bet they won't see that coming! Once you break its shield, it becomes a Cannon not on wheels.”

The Cannon Cart is an Epic card that is unlocked from the Miner's Mine (Arena 15). It spawns a single-target, ground-targeting, medium-ranged, ground troop with moderate hitpoints and moderate damage with a shield in addition to its normal hitpoints. When its shield is destroyed, it becomes a building with a 30-second lifetime. It appears as a Cannon with a wooden base atop a wooden cart. A Cannon Cart card costs 5 Elixir to deploy.

  • Since the first form isn't a building, the Cannon Cart is not a substitute for the Cannon. It is quite difficult to control when the Cannon Cart enters its second form, so it cannot consistently pull building targeting troops to a favorable position. Thus, the player should seek other alternatives.
  • Despite both forms having a large amount of combined health, the Cart being rendered immobile once its first form has been defeated means that it is best to put the Cannon Cart behind a tank or other high-hitpoint troops such as the Giant, like glass cannon cards. The tank will absorb all damage and the Cannon Cart will clear away units attacking the tank and eventually the Crown Tower. Keep in mind that this combo is very vulnerable to swarms, so it is advised to bring an area damage spell or troops.
  • Both its troop and building form at full health can survive one hit from a Fireball or Mini P.E.K.K.A. if they are all at equivalent levels. If the cart is in its troop form, the Mini P.E.K.K.A. will still fully counter it, but its health will be too low for a threatening counterpush.
  • If the player does not need to attack any time soon, they can use spells to destroy the Cannon Cart's shield when it is placed in the back with the opponent's Crown Tower and force it to start decaying. A Lightning, Rocket, or a Fireball combined with The Log can all defeat the Cart's first form. Although this is a slight negative Elixir trade, the tower damage gained is enough to offset this.
  • Placing a Cannon Cart in the middle of the opponent's territory when they have one Crown Tower destroyed can be a great strategy. The Cannon Cart's decent range will let it lock on to the remaining Crown Tower in a short time, dealing great damage if left ignored. However, if the opponent expects this, they may play a card pre-emptively to stop it, causing the Cannon Cart to be a waste of Elixir. This is easier for them to do at a low cost due to the fact that the Cannon Cart will be in range of both the King's Tower and the Crown Tower when placed as far forward as possible.
    • If the Cannon Cart is placed on the second tile from the river closest to the enemy's Crown Tower, the Cannon Cart will actually be out of range of the King's Tower. This is useful as it'll still quickly lock-on to the Crown Tower, whilst also completely eliminating the King Tower's damage output. However, this comes with the drawback of taking a bit longer to connect, giving your opponent more time to react.
  • Mini-tanks or high-damage units like the Knight or the Mini P.E.K.K.A. are great counters to Cannon Cart. They can survive multiple hits while dealing great damage to Cannon Cart, destroying it. However, the Cannon Cart can counter these units with the help of Crown Towers, even being able to stop a Mega Knight despite its jump attack as long as at least two Crown Towers are helping.
  • The cheapest card combo to counter a Cannon Cart crossing the river alone is the Ice Spirit combined with Skeletons. When it is about to roll within range of the player's Crown Tower, the player should deploy the Ice Spirit immediately followed by Skeletons. The Ice Spirit will tank one shot, freeze it, and the Skeletons will damage it down to its second form, where it will then be chipped down by the player's Crown Tower. This is a +3 Elixir trade, but it is very delicate; the opponent may use a spell to neutralize the combo, and allow the Cannon Cart to connect to the Tower. Since this is unreactable, the player should keep in mind when they can thwart this combo. Using a different card all of a sudden to counter the Cart can make the opponent react wrongly, spelling something that isn't vulnerable like a Knight.
  • The Ice Golem is the cheapest single card counter to the Cannon Cart with the help of a Crown Tower, and is harder to work around due to its higher health. For the best results, the Ice Golem should be timed so that it begins distracting the Cart the moment the Crown Tower begins targeting it, and it should be placed in such a way that the Ice Golem's death damage also chips at the cart and slows it.
  • Swarm cards like the Skeleton Army and the Guards are effective at countering this card, since the Cannon Cart can only attack one target at a time, causing it to be overwhelmed and destroyed. In the case of the Guards, the damage of the Cannon Cart is not enough to destroy their shields in one hit, so they can defend it for longer.
  • The Cannon Cart has enough firepower to destroy an equivalent-level Goblin in one hit. It is a good card for clearing away small units one by one so that the rest of a push can follow.
  • The Cannon Cart is difficult to redirect due to its long range and its immunity to knockback (besides The Log), so it can be used to surprise an opponent at the start of the game or when they have little to no Elixir. This is especially devastating if a spell is at the ready to defeat any swarms, one of the simplest methods of dealing with the Cart.
  • A Cannon Cart can be strong when paired up with Graveyard due to its fast movement speed and high combined hitpoints, being able to distract the opponent's tower for a sufficient amount of time.
  • The Cannon Cart can be used to counter a Goblin Barrel, due to its ability to one-shot them, letting the Goblins get no more than three hits. However, due to it being a negative Elixir trade, the player should try to counterpush with the Cannon Cart to try and even the Elixir deficit or to try and deal damage to a Crown Tower, as otherwise it is a waste of potential.
  • The Cannon Cart's shield hitpoints combined with its normal hitpoints are higher than the entire hitpoints of a Battle Healer. Because of this, it is a good idea to use it in response to a Mortar or X-Bow placed at the bridge. Breaking the shield would not result in the building retargeting and as such, the Cannon Cart will tank more shots for longer.
  • The Ram Rider can easily stop a Cannon Cart. Her attack will slowly kill the first form while her charge will deal massive damage to the second form of the Cannon Cart.

In this challenge, gameplay was similar to a regular 2v2 Draft Challenge, except that 2 of the players were able to choose who would use the Cannon Cart. If the player achieved at least 8 wins, they obtained the Cannon Cart early.
  • From 31/7/2017 through 3/8/2017, the Shop had a special offer where Arena 10+ players could buy up to 6 Magical Chests at the normal price that guarantee at least 50% of the Chest's contents to be Cannon Cart.
  • The Cannon Cart card was generally released on 5/8/2017.
  • On 9/10/2017, the Epic Quests Update, increased the Cannon Cart's hitpoints and shield hitpoints by 5%. Trivia[]

  • The Cannon Cart is 1 of 19 troops which first existed in Clash of Clans, the others being Minions, Archers, Goblins, Skeletons, Barbarians, Giant, Valkyrie, Wizard, Hog Rider, Witch, P.E.K.K.A., Balloon, Golem, Wall Breakers, Bowler, Phoenix, Lava Hound, and the Archer Queen.
    • The first part of the Cannon Cart's description was taken from the Cannon Cart in Clash of Clans, where it says "A cannon on wheels?! Wait, did it just turn into a mortar?? Bet they won't see that coming! Both powerful and versatile!"
    • Its ability differs from its Clash of Clans counterpart. Instead of dropping its wheels when the shield is destroyed, the Clash of Clans Cannon Cart can be switched between its moving and broken form, with its broken form having higher range and area damage, similar to a Mortar.
    • Its Star Level 3 skin grant it the Golden Dragon's head, a boss that appears in a Single Player Map in Clash of Clans.
  • The Cannon Cart is one of the first troop cards to receive a card render, alongside the Archers, Knight, Goblins, Bomber, Skeletons, Barbarians, Bats, Royal Recruits, Skeleton Barrel, Rascals, Musketeer, Giant, Valkyrie, Wizard, Flying Machine, Hog Rider, Royal Hogs, Dart Goblin, Zappies, Elixir Golem, Baby Dragon, Skeleton Army, Witch, P.E.K.K.A, Prince, Balloon, Giant Skeleton, Goblin Giant, Hunter, Electro Dragon, Wall Breakers, Bowler, Mega Knight, Ram Rider, Miner, Royal Ghost, Ice Wizard, Magic Archer, Bandit, Lava Hound, Night Witch, and Fisherman.
  • In the Spanish, Italian and Norwegian language settings of the game, the Cannon Cart's name translates to "Wheeled Cannon". In the Norwegian and Russian language settings of the game, the Cannon Cart's name translates to "Cannon Wagon". In the Turkish and Vietnamese language settings of the game, the Cannon Cart's name translates to "Cannon Car". In the Japanese and Chinese language settings of the game, the Cannon Cart's name translates to "Type 60 Moot" and "Cannon Chariot" respectively.

    • The Cannon Cart and the Guards are the only troops to have more shield hitpoints than their own hitpoints.
  • The Cannon Cart is the only troop that changes type when unshielded, going from a troop to a building.
  • Since the Cannon Cart is a troop, it can be cloned, and a cloned copy will drop a cloned cannon, making it the only case where Clone can generate a building. Since the cloned cannon still has a limited lifetime, it is the only cloned troop with a health bar.
  • The Cannon Cart is unavailable in The Floor is Healing Challenge, as buildings are unavailable and its second form is a building.
  • When a Cannon Cart turns into a building, it drops its wheels. However, only 3 wheels are seen to come off despite it having 4 wheels.
  • There used to be a glitch where if the Neutral Fisherman targeted an unshielded Cannon Cart, he would move away from the center towards the Cannon Cart and staying there until the battle ended or he moved towards another unshielded Cannon Cart.
  • The initial balance change for Cannon Cart on the 4/10/2022 balance changes was a 14% hitpoints decrease, but it was lowered to 8% last minute.
